We recently attended a nearby wedding and stayed at The Five Bells, an amazing family-run pub and B&B. The family room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped, with complimentary toiletries that were especially appreciated as we’d forgotten ours at home. Mary and her daughters were incredibly warm and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this lovely place.

Autentisk ophold

Virkelig fint sted med ægte engelsk atmosfære. Flink kroejer og en udsøgt morgenmad der laves som du bestiller den.

Home away from home vibes

We've have never stayed somewhere that's made us feel more welcome. The food is good. The staff are lovely and go well out of their way to help and make you feel at home. The locals are friendly. What more could you want?

Convenient for Dover

We stayed at The Five Bells as a last minute arrangement to avoid queues at Dover Ferry Terminal. It was a great choice, easy access to Dover and a really warm welcome from the staff and landlady. We had a nice evening meal and breakfast too.

Warm welcome at the Five Bells

I received a warm welcome throughout my two day stay; service was consistently excellent and friendly. My room (the family room) was extremely spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, equipped with everything I needed. I heartily recommend.

Visiting Dover

Another room found on the fly based on reviews and was a great find! Room was clean and comfortable. And although the bathroom was shared, they provide robes for your comfort. Breakfast is included & was cooked perfectly! Staff is friendly. Recommend staying here if you’re sightseeing around the Dover area.

All good but no Wi-Fi

I have nothing to complain about apart from the Wi-Fi there is not any and it wasn’t me as I was travelling with colleagues. When you’re on business away from Home, this is absolute necessary part of your stay.

It’s the village pub with just 3 rooms. Comfy and old but with plenty of character. Slept above the bar but wasn’t disturbed.

Excellent pub and accommodation

Accommodation, food, wine choice, staff were all excellent. Our room met our requirements. One small thing that we appreciated was that the bottom sash window had not been painted shut like so many others we've visted. Eastry is an excellent place to park your car and use public transport to visit Deal, Sandwich, Dover and Canterbury relieving the need to drive and find parking

Fantastic stay!

Fantastic stay! Parked out front, nice room, very comfy bed, no noise after pub hours, staff friendly as you could ever want! Had a great sleep and woke up to a fantastic full English included. Great gas/boiler shower in a separate bathroom a few feet away (only the twin I believe has a separate bathroom), and even gowns provided. Food was great, and very happy they had some 0% beers and cider and gin, as I’ve given up booze lol. A real gem of a place.

Lovely, friendly welcome and service. A bit faded glory in our bedroom with uneven flooring. We did find the separate bathroom a bit inconvenient during the night. Otherwise good food and good value.

A pleasant stay.

A very pleasant stay. Mary was lovely, and so was the service in the restaurant. The meal lacked seasoning and sauce, and the fries were undercooked. The next morning at breakfast, the brown bread was missing. It's a shame, but it doesn't spoil the overall impression too much.

Lovely Olde World stopover.

Lovely olde world pub-restaurant. Excellent food, both breakfasts and evening meals. This is a real heart of the community pub, with lots going on, including a Petanque match, when we were there. Check-in at the bar was easy. The service was very friendly and excellent throughout. A well stocked bar, including a local beer, 'Gem' by name and 'Gem' by nature. The en-suite double room was clean and comfortablebut you are better off relaxing in the bars downstairs, where there was two dining lounges and a dedicated sports TV room.Sitiuated in the historic, lovely village of Eastry, just over 10 miles from Dover.
