The location was excellent, allowing us to easily get to Lajes for whale watching and the whaling museum, Madelena for the nearby vineyards (and best grocery store), and, of course to Mt. Pico, which my oldest daughter climbed. The terrain is unique and varied across the island, unlike anything we’d ever seen before. The laundry washing machine should also be able to dry because with that humidity and frequent rain it's almost impossible to leave it dry outside.
