In it's time the hotel would have been very regal but although clean and tidy it is in great need of refurbishment. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, easy chair, desk and tea/coffee making facilities. An ironing board and iron stored in a cupboard with plenty of coat hangers. Overall we enjoyed our one-night stay at The Royal.

Breakfast was good sea view well we open our curtains and all you can see was the buildings at back we had to go out for see that not happy overpriced plus £10 carpark charge a day but if u were to go out in car you lost your space everywhere u look parking tickets on cars

The staff were lovely, breakfast was excellent, the restaurant didn't open till 6pm, so as we were going out we ordered bar food, which was ok, tasty but nothing special, convenient for us though.again the staff were lovely, We asked to change rooms because of a small problem,it was done without any fuss. It is slowly being renovated and just had lovely New windows in the lounge, some of the rooms need updating and the secret balcony could do with abit of TLC,, but it's a beautiful old building, and as we've been staying there for 20 years,we will continue to stay there,

We thought the room was lovely. Well decorated with lots of nice touches. The two staff I spoke to were polite and helpful. Our room had a lovely view of the beach. The parking was quite easy in the multi store in the precinct. The room was clean but could do with a few finishing touches, like for example a hole in the floor which had been filled in but not finished off properly. The bathroom needs a blind at the window. The shower gel bottle in the bathroom was empty. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that.

On first appearance when you enter the hotel it looks lovely, after walking along numerous corridorrs you realise the place needs a good hoover, our room hadnt been hoovered, there was 1 milk sachet, the meals are disgusting. Our disabled friend had to access the hotel via some doors at the rear of the dining room, staff had to be called on to open the fire doors and fit a ramp in place to gain access, if there was a fire i dread to think what might happen.

Gorgeous hotel, I will definitely stay again. My children and I enjoyed being here. The bar/lounge is great as is the impressive reception. Really good food and service from staff. Our room was a little bit dated but did not faze us. As the beds were super comfy and we had a bath and shower which was good. Overall had a great experience.

Room was tiny bathroom floor sloped away and the toilet seat had a mind of its own someone else disposable razor lett on floor behind the toilet tbf shower was ok .Mirror in bedroom was filthy looked like someone wiped it with a dirty cloth and tea stained still left on dresser only stayed two nights that was the first and will certainly be the last O and drinks in the bar were way over priced
