A lovely place to stay, off the beaten track
This is a beautiful, spacious house with many tasteful artistic details. Picture windows make the most of the spectacular views of the sea and countryside below you. We wondered if they would also make the house hot, but they didn't seem to, and the fly screens on all the smaller windows meant they could be opened to create a through draught.
The terrace is also lovely, providing both sunny and shaded areas at all times of day, amidst lovely flowering plants and the olive trees below.
The house has good, comfortable seating and is well equipped, with a good shower and bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable too.
Since the nearest shops are in Sciacca we found a good supermarket (Eurospin - which had fresh baked goods as well as everything else we needed) and did one big shop - a large fridge and substantial freezer in the house made this possible (although we struggled to find storage space for food that didn't need refrigerated!)
The kitchen would benefit from a few more chopping boards, sharp knives and different sizes of pans.
The access road is in poor condition which takes getting used to, and also unfortunately sometimes a group of dogs waits half way up it to chase your car, with risk of running them over. They also sometimes bark through the night which may affect sensitive sleepers.
Our favourite swimming beach turned out to be one nearby, just across the main road!
The owners were helpful and responded quickly to any queries.
We would happily stay here again.
