The Captain's Manor located in Columbia City is in a charming neighborhood 4.5 miles from downtown. The house is walking distance to the Columbia City Link Light Rail station and to the neighborhood downtown with bars, restaurants, shops, movie theater, and groceries. The home is light and spacious with northwest and nautical decor in hopes of making your stay feel like a Northwest Bed & Breakfast experience and not just staying in someone's home.
The space:
The house has many original paintings from Northwest artists that help give it a creative and inspiring atmosphere. Each of the rooms has a big closet that has been converted to sleeping spaces dubbed The Harry Potter rooms by past guests. The kitchen is big with a good layout and well stocked for guests that like to cook. Coffee is complementary. The large dining room table is good for get togethers and the laundry room holds extra fold up chairs and table if needed. The deck has a grill and two tables with seating and is a nice place to hang out. Half of the deck is covered for those that want to stay out of the sun or rain. The two car driveway is for guests to use and street parking is free as well.
Note: The host lives in a basement unit with a separate entrance and uses the side yard.
The neighborhood:
There are bars, restaurants, breweries, a grocery store, ice cream shops, coffee shops, and a movie theater all in walking distance. The PCC grocery store is a favorite of guests. Seward Park is 1.4 miles away and offers the beauty of Lake Washington and on clear days, an amazing view of Mount Rainier. Bill Wright Golf Complex at Jefferson Park is 1.2 miles away and a public course. The house location is perfect for taking in anything Seattle has to offer with a quick 20 minute ride to stadiums and downtown by rail or car.
