Top Shropshire Hotel Reviews

Yak & Yeti Hotel
8/10 Good
"Handy car park. Lovely staff. Great food . Room comfy, thankful of fan. Room had usual tea, coffee plus water and biscuits. I’d go here again as very handy for the Sabrina boat trip and walk into town."

Lion and Pheasant Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely inn. Located in a convenient place near English Bridge. Breakfast was delicious. The bar and wine bar were very convenient. We stayed during a heatwave. The rooms were quite warm. There are many steps to get to the rooms."

Prince Rupert Hotel
8/10 Good
"Breakfast was a bit disappointing and the standard double room was very small and dated ie worn"

The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury
10/10 Excellent
"good central location, no-fuss check in"

Lion Quays Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"Staff were really nice and the hotel itself was good, nice rooms and the grounds were good to walk around. Food at the restaurant was okay but a bit expensive and not the best veggie options. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere however, so hard to get public transport and taxis were quite pricey!"

Darwin's Townhouse
10/10 Excellent
"The stay was perfect, loved the honesty bar and breakfast! The bed was very comfortable. Quiet at night and staff were so helpful. As a solo traveller I felt very safe here and well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Will be back again!"

Albrighton Hall Hotel and Spa, a member of Radisson Individuals
6/10 Okay
"Breakfast staff deserve a medal coping with the understaffing. The orange juice is just squash. Nice poached egg available if you ask though. Good sausage and mushrooms. too. The waiting staff are lovely unlike the cold, unfriendly receptionists who should work at a GP’s! The grounds were picturesque and the pool okay if a bit too warm in the heatwave. Room 17 is tiny but it was clean. The noise from the boiler outside was unpleasant as was the non-existent view. Hit and miss but good value if you join Radisson and get free use of the pool. Avoid Room 17 though it is a bit of a walk and noisy."

Burlton Inn
8/10 Good
"We had a very warm welcome from the friendly staff and were shown to the room which was clean and bright. The food that evening was excellent, and as it was a warm evening we spent a pleasant time sitting outside with our drinks afterwards. Continental breakfast was served promptly at 8 am and the addition of fresh strawberries and blueberries was a definite plus! Check in / check out was swift and efficient. Just a couple of minus points:- The room door could only be opened with the key - there was no catch to keep it in the unlocked position if one of us wanted to go out. The TV remote was difficult to understand, programmes we thought available seemed impossible to access and there were no instructions. I appreciate that this may have been down to a previous guest "fiddling" with the settings but was frustrating to find late at night when too late to rectify. The only sockets were almost unreachable below and behind the unit - I am not as agile as I once was (unable to crouch or kneel} so charging my phone was challenging! And finally a safety point - the exit from the Pub is on to a very busy fast road and close to a bend so turning right was made even more difficult by the luxurious growth of a plant right on the corner of the building which impeded the view to the left."
