The host sent a lot of messages leading up to the stay regarding rules, etc. This was a little off putting as instead of 1 message, it was many. That said, I understand wanting to keep your home in good condition. However, upon check in, the home seemed to have several issues of disrepair including cigarette butts (when no smoking was one of the rules). I was worried that I would potentially get blamed for the disrepair. I contacted the host, but it just felt off to me that they were so vocal about the care of the home and yet it was not in great shape when I checked in. It also bothered me that there was nothing covering the bathroom windows (not even privacy film). My whole family felt so weird when we showered. Overall, this VRBO looks cute and has some nice touches (like k-cups, or cute folds on the paper towels) but I think some of the major things were overlooked and they should do a better job of checking the home between stays. I do appreciate the host for allowing us to bring our pet and having a reasonable pet fee. That was wonderful and its a great home for pets. That said, when I travel with my pet I am extra cautious of making sure I leave the home we stay in good condition. The fact that this home was in disrepair when we checked in made me nervous. I did not want to get blamed and having to message the host about that was an annoying part of my trip. We were visiting family that we rarely see and that was a distraction.
