"This cottage has a really nice vibe very clean and ideally situated for visiting Thirsk and the local communities. The market square is a few short steps away The railway station is a pleasant 30 minutes walk away, but it does have a bus service if the weather is not too good The cottage is spread over 3 storeys and is modern kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor and sitting/living room is 1st floor and bedroom top floor. "Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"Very helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay. Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful. Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub. Only downside, studio was small."

"We loved this property. The owners obviously have an eye for decor as it is a really stylish place and beautifully finished. We loved how peaceful the property was and the owners had thought of everything . We really appreciated the tea, coffee and milk after a 5 hour drive and the muffins, biscuits and crisps were a lovely touch. All the information you needed was in a folder and we visited lots of the places recommenced in it. It’s a fantastic property and we hope to stay there again."

"Had a lovely stay here. Welcoming staff on arrival, clean , comfy and spacious rooms, a better than expected gym, and nice food. The rooms were cosy and had everything required, free toiletries in the bathroom which was a nice touch. The gym was great considering it was a hotel gym, lots of equipment and free weights. Didn’t use the spa but looked more than good enough and clean. Ate here for breakfast and evening meal. Wasn't a massive menu but a good selection and was enjoyable. A little longer wait between courses than preferred but was quite busy. A special mention to Wendy on reception. Very welcoming, informative and above all a lovely lady. "
