The Jewel of the Bay 130 metres from the beach with a view - bright and airy.

The Jewel of the Bay is a modern, light, bright and airy two storey house just 130 metres from the beach. There is a great view over the bay and the jetty, and the General Store, Liquor Store and Post Office is just one block away. The jetty is a five minute walk.
Our 'Jewel of the Bay' holiday house was master-built in 2006, and is a great get-away house for couples and families. It is also a very practical house to base your fishing expedition with your mates, as there is room for several vehicles and the 'shack' which is also equipped with kitchen, toilet and bathroom.
Smoky is known and valued for its King George Whiting fishing in a sheltered bay, but the jetty also gives good fishing for Tommies, Squid and Blue Swimmer Crabs in season (December to April).
The house has a great upstairs deck with hooded BBQ, is fully air-conditioned and has gas heating for the winter.
The upstairs family/living area is open plan, and easily caters for 8 people.
All 3 house bedrooms have QS beds, ideal for couples, bedroom 2 also has a single bed and bedroom 3 sleeps an additional 3.
There is also room for overflow of extras in the adjoining shack which has its own facilities and evaporative air-conditioning.
There is undercover parking for three vehicles.
Come and enjoy a delightful house in a quiet and beautiful setting.
Holiday or fish or just relax in beautiful Smoky Bay, where you can get the juiciest oysters and kids can swim in a safe, sheltered bay.
From February 2019 Wifi will also be available.

The perfect holiday house in the perfect spot with amazing views.

We loved our stay here and particularly enjoyed being able to stay with our dogs. The house was cosy and comfortable during some wild winter weather - and when the skies cleared the views were magnificent. Everything you could need for a short or longer stay was provided and we felt right at home. The location was great both for enjoying Smoky Bay and for exploring the surrounding areas.

Place of peaceful relaxation

A lovely peaceful week in Smoky Bay with some perfect and some not so perfect winter days. The home adapted to all of the conditions, providing a warm and comfortable stay throughout for us and our dog. He loved the long, beautiful beach just a short walk away and the balcony to sit and watch the view. As did we. Felt very at home during our holiday week.

A nice hideaway

A very convenient location with great sea views and fantastic sunsets. Lovely two storey setting with all the conveniences of being away from home. The accommodation separate from the house can be allocated to others during your stay - good to be aware of. Loved our stay and enjoyed our oysters and Chablis watching the sun set!

A piece of paradise

Wow! This lovely holiday home exceeded all of our expectations. The views are amazing and the house is extremely comfortable and full of extras to make your stay a special one. We stayed for 5 nights and found the bed to be comfortable, the facilities easy to use & the instructions / labels a great help. The home has a bath, 2 toilets / 2 showers and a large fully fenced yard for your dogs or kids to play. The stairs are easy to climb with solid rails available to help. There was even a laundry chute so you don’t need to carry clothing down to the laundry for washing. The beach is very close to the home. All linen & towels were also provided which was handy. Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our two dogs.

Smoky Stay

Terrific property with great sea views and numerous amenities that added value to the stay. Malcolm was readily available to take calls and provide clarity on any matter at all. This trip was specifically about fishing but I will return with my family. the only issue we had was the fish cleaning table looks into the afternoon sun and if there was a shade cover on fence or it was moved would be great. Thanks again. Michael

Relaxing Stay @ Smoky

From the start communication was good and finding the property and gaining entry was easy. The 2 story home is right in Smoky next to the Caravan Park and near to the Jetty. Everything you need is supplied with well equipped kitchen and working grade internet. Off street undercover parking is also provided. Would stay afain.

The house and host could not be better. The house was very clean and had all we could ever want. So close to all activities with great access to the beach front. We will be booking again in years to come as we had such a relaxing time.

Great short holiday

Lovely house with great views over the town and the ocean. House was spotless when we arrived and was just like a home away from home with everything that we needed. Great to have a secure yard for our dog Ellie, couldn't have wished for anything better. Appreciated the phone call from Malcolm to check that everything was ok - hopefully we will be back again when the fishing might be a bit better

Smokey bay facilities outside of summer

The property was very comfortable, had some views of the beach. We were disappointed in the facilities offered at Smokey Bay, we hadn’t realised that we wouldn’t be able to get a meal, and the choices of food available at the store were minimal and no food was available after 5.30pm.

Furbaby holiday!

After a 10 hour drive it was lovely to find everything we needed and to feel like we were at home. So close to the beach. Great view and most of all we were able to stay with 4 dogs that had the best time on the beach. Such a lovely quite little town to stay in. Pity the fish didn't bite during our stay.

The Jewel of the Bay indeed!

The house is lovely, so comfortable and convenient. Pretty much everything you need is supplied including free wifi ( but as not a true B and B you need to bring your own food and drinks). Great to sit on the deck in the morning for a coffee or a drink in the evening and watch the sunset over the bay.
