Wonderful cottage on a beautiful property!
The cottage is perfect for a small group -- comfortable beds, plenty of space to spread out, a big enough kitchen to cook and all the kitchen equipment you could need. Nice touch of tea, coffee, fresh eggs, milk and even fresh fruit from the property. The location can't be beat for access to everything in the Santa Ynez valley. Highly recommend!

Property is exactly as described.
Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood very close to Solvang. Hosts were great and we got to meet the household chickens that provided us breakfast! I would absolutely stay here again the next time we visit friends in the area.

Great Stay for Birthday Weekend Getaway!
All of the 5/5 reviews I saw prior to booking were completely accurate! Peter and Bev were excellent hosts - very kind and accommodating. I had mentioned it was for a birthday and they had a bday sign, balloon and fresh roses waiting for us when we checked in. The cottage was cute and nicely appointed (the furnishings and bathroom even looked more updated than in the pics online). They had stocked the fridge with juice, milk, cream, oat milk, jam, honey, english muffins, fresh fruit from their trees and a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens. Enough for 3 adults for 2 full breakfasts and some to spare! Bev greeted us and handed off fresh figs she had just picked from her tree. The day we arrived the temp had just cooled down 30 degrees from the prior day so Peter came in and made sure the heaters were working as the early morning forecast was a chilly 35 degrees. The garden was lovely and the chicken were fun to feed and interact with. All in all it was a great stay - we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. I would highly recommend this cute spot (very convenient to Solvang, Los Olivos and wine tasting areas too!). I would stay here again!

Wonderful stay
My older son and i stayed foe the weekend while visiting family and friends. We would highly recommend Peter and Bev. There hospitality and cottage was just as described. Family friendly, kid friendly with lots of amenities. Fridge was stocked with eggs, milk and juice upon arrival. We will stay here again.

Great time in Santa Ynez
We had the privilege of staying at this kid-friendly house in the Santa Ynez/Solvang area. The kids were loving every minute of the toys, electric cars, tricycle, and chickens. We also had a blast walking around downtown Solvang and feeding the ostriches and emus in Buellton. The hosts, Peter and Bev, are very kind and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

This lovely guest house was perfect for us (grandparents, adult children and toddler granddaughter). The play area, the remote control car, the sidewalk chalk and the chickens were all a HUGE HIT with our granddaughter. Peter and Bev were delightful hosts - very welcoming with a fridge magnet message and fresh food too! The place was clean, spacious, beds were comfortable. It was just right for us. Nice stay in a unique location close to Solvang
We had a quick visit to Solvang and Los Olivos and loved our stay. Peter and Bev are wonderful hosts and made the stay easy and memorable. Comfortable
We booked this place because it was close to the Santa Ynez Equestrian Center, so we were super happy with the location. It's in a nice neighborhood conveniently close to the market. We were on the go most of the time, so we weren't able to fully enjoy all the amenities or interact much with Paul and Bev. Paul was responsive to text messages and very accommodating of requests. We loved the large kitchen and sitting areas. The bathroom is small, so keep that in mind; also, there is no bathtub if you need one. The kitchen was well stocked, and there were plenty of towels and bedding around. Definitely more for a family in most ways (except the bathroom), so it was super spacious for the two of us. The parking area is on the property, so it's secure and convenient, particularly for loading and unloading, which we did a lot of. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Peter and Bev were amazing with their promptness in communicating. They wanted to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible and the kitchen was fully stocked as described, including the delicious fresh eggs. Great hosts, would definitely recommend!!! It was nice to walk in and find a welcoming message on the chalkboard 😀 **the only thing i would recommend is that if theres a 5th person sleeping there in the twin bed and you dont like your matress super duper firm, then bring a matress topper.

Wonderful stay
Wonderful stay at this elegant property. The kids loved it and the house was really well appointed for a family with young children. Lots of personal charm and character and all of the things we needed. Our hosts were fantastic too as were the resident chickens we met on site. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area. Very close drive to Solvang and nice local cafes and grocery stores nearby.

Clean, unique, lovely and comfy with fresh flowers and chickens
The space is large and clean. The decor is artsy and unique in the most wonderful way! Fresh eggs from the chickens, butter, milk and cream, nicely set up kitchen and sweet property all around with a lovely garden, fruit trees and chickens! We had a wonderful experience. The only small downside is the space is rather "live" and you can hear each other from room to room. No biggie though.

Wonderful place for families
This property is beautiful, relaxing and perfect for families with young kids. There were fresh eggs from the chickens; oranges and grapes growing everywhere that you are welcome to pick; and an amazing electric car that my five year-old drove around in pretty much all day. The location is perfect--close to wineries and Solvang but also quiet and peaceful. Peter and Deb were gracious, easygoing hosts. We loved staying here.

Incredible stay for family with young kids
Peter and Bev have an incredible guest house! It was spacious and had an amazing play room for my 17 month old. They offered everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen is fully equipped and they even provided fresh eggs, milk, and fresh fruit upon arrival. The chickens were so friendly and our son even got to feed them one morning which was a huge highlight for him. I would highly recommend for any family traveling to this area. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Above and Beyond
This is a lovely property with an amazing garden suitable for relaxation, meditation, dining and chatting. There is plenty of space inside and outside for everyone to make space for themselves. The basic foods provided made cooking a quick breakfast a breeze. I had asked for help finding a few daffodils to place in a vase for my sister's birthday celebration. The hosts went above and beyond. Each room in our accommodations had beautiful daffodil arrangements! They even put up a Happy Birthday sign. I loved the decor and will definitely return with my son and his family. This property is family friendly.

Quirky, beautiful and relaxing
We had a lovely time enjoying the cottage for the 2-night weekend away, especially the garden. My teen enjoyed meeting the chickens. It was convenient to wineries, a great grocery store and Solvang and beyond. We had planned to grill, but didn't find a gas tank available and adjusted our late dinner to the oven, so it is probably a good idea to check on that earlier. They offered nicely to bring the next morning.

Enjoyed the cottage and feeding all the chicken!
We spent the long Thanksgiving weekend at Peter and Bev’s property as we explored Solvang and the surrounding hiking trails and beaches (as recommended by Peter). The check-in process was so easy and Bev greeted us upon arrival. The cottage was so cute and perfect for my brothers and I. The fridge was stocked with fresh eggs, juice, water and fruits. We also enjoyed using the grill in the backyard. We spent our mornings in the meditation garden and we were able to feed all the chicken. The place was immaculate and the restroom was fully stocked with great products. The beds were so comfortable with clean linen and we definitely recommend this property if exploring Solvang.

Great house and great location!
We loved staying here, it was the highlight of our road trip. The gardens/property was beautiful, our kids especially loved the chickens, the owner introduced us to them and gave us food, they were very friendly and had tons of personality. The house was very nice and spacious, the food and drinks left for us in the refrigerator were a really nice touch that you don't find many places and enough for breakfast for us for several days. We were also close driving distance to Los Olivos and Solvang and visited several wineries in the area as well, all within short drives. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful for kids!
Staying at this property this weekend with our 2 year old was so much fun. The hosts thoughtfully put out toys for our little one and she absolutely loved the chickens. We were provided with fresh eggs, jam, milk, bread and butter. The space was very spacious and it was perfectly priced. The location is also very close to Solvang. Way More Relaxing than I Imaged
This location was so peaceful and so relaxing. When I arrived there was a note on the fridge and board welcoming us to the area. The fridge was stocked with yummy bread, fresh eggs from the ladies outside, fresh off the tree pomegranate and persimmons. There were lovely plants through the home. There was ample room in the bedrooms and additional room for extra sleeping accommodations in the living room area. Peter met us at the gate and explained the property to us. I was amazed at the beautiful garden/tree area filled with thriving plants like agave, pineapple sage, fruit trees of all kinds and the sound of peace and quiet. The next morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see, there were chickens, with amazing plumage, walking freely. It was so neat see some with feathers on their feet that looked like fancy boots. Bev allowed us to feed and pet the chickens. They were so fun to interact with. It felt like a true getaway. This was such a welcome change and perfect decompression time needed after a whirlwind Disney visit. I only wish I could have stayed longer. It was an amazing spot to reset. Thanks Bev and Peter for being so awesome. Looking forward to returning in the future.

The Owners, The Property, the Chickens and Jaayze were all AMAZING.
What a wonderful Girls getaway. Plenty of room for all of us and a great place to relax outside or in with your glass of wine. Bev and Peter were amazing host. Our refrigerator was packed with Milk, coffee creamer, fresh fresh eggs, bread homemade apricot preserves and more, Our host always wanted to know if they could get us anything else just let them know and it appeared. We are all laughing because we all miss the chickens and beautiful surroundings, The beds and the linens were wonderful. We are all looking forward to coming back in Nov. or Dec. Our Security Deposit was refunded the day we left. Thank You so much for making this a really enjoyable trip. Can't wait to come back All the Girls say Hi and what a great experience this was. Excellent experience!
From beginning to end, everything about this HomeAway experience was perfect. Peter and Beverly are incredibly gracious hosts; we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped on to the property. The home is clean and comfortable, the gardens are lovely, and the family chickens are friendly. I have stayed in many vacation homes, and in my experience, this one is by far the most well-stocked. The kitchen has every kitchen tool imaginable! Thank you so much Peter and Beverly. We will be back!

Great place to stay
I endorse what has already been said on the recent 5 star reviews below. This is a spacious, clean, well set-up and good value place to stay in the Santa Ynez Valley. Communication with Peter during the booking process was completely smooth and responsive and when we arrived we found Peter and Bev to be thoughtful and gracious hosts. We are a family of four with two kids (eight and six years of age). The accommodation had plenty of space for us, and all the amenities that we required. The fridge was kindly stocked with a few of the basics to get us started - fresh eggs, juice, milk, bread and butter - which was much appreciated. The kids enjoyed meeting and feeding the chickens, which were no trouble at all and a pleasant idiosyncracy of the site. We would certainly recommend this place.

Best choice all things considered
Relaxing, convenient, delightful! We looked around in the area. This was convenient to the things-to-do in the area (Solvang, wineries, etc.). It was charming, calm, quiet and private. The chickens were tame and added an enjoyable aspect. Were there possibly better places to stay? Very likely yes: But they would have cost at least twice as much per night. For the cost of a one-room motel in Solvang proper, we were treated to a more spacious two bedroom private home in a quiet neighborhood, with a 4-minute drive to Solvang central. And with 2 teenage kids along for the ride, the choice was pretty simple. Next time we go to the area, they will be first on our list. (Unless we win big in the lottery, in which case we'll buy one the local wineries).

Charming and Peaceful Property.
Our group of 4 were visiting Solvang for a horse event. In the past, we've stayed in a downtown hotel. This house/cottage has all of the amenities you need to feel at home. Fresh eggs, milk, butter and coffee supplied along with a coffee grinder for fresh coffee. The beds were comfortable, one from our party didn't like sleeping in a twin bed in the dining area and the only small complaint is that 1 bathroom for 4 women is a bit inconvenient when we all needed to leave in the morning. We wanted to spend more time with the beautiful chickens, they have a nice collection of friendly hens. Bev was wonderful and accommodating, I didn't have a chance to meet Peter, but he's been wonderful in his communications. I would stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay in Santa Ynez! We have a family of four, including two teenage girls. Peter and Bev could not have been more accommodating. Peter and Bev had the fridge stocked with a welcome package - fresh eggs, juice, milk, and bread. The kitchen had everything we needed and more! The house was very clean and stocked with anything you might need...including a copy of the movie 'Sideways'. :) I can't forget about the chickens! My family LOVED them!! Peter and Bev provided the "chicken snacks" and my family was happy to feed and hold them. They're the friendliest chickens I've ever seen! We will definitely rent again if we are back in the area. Very unique property - people - and even the chickens!!!
Peter and Beverly were the best hosts that I've come to meet in a very long time; 1) Effective and quick communication on pre-visit details (fun stuff for the kids to do, specific POIs and helpful directions that went beyond your Nav syst. 2) Personal welcome upon arrival, including a chalk board providing a nice welcome touch as well as a personally signed thank you card, Bev walked us through the home pointing out the subtleties one needs to know before settling in including fully stocked Kitchen (milk, eggs, fresh baked bread, butter, cheese etc) and goodies for our grand-kids! - if we needed more just let them know!!! 3) Follow-up to ensure everything expected was fulfilled! These proud owners couldn't have been more thoughtful and kind - period! The property surpassed my expectations and was actually larger than I had imagined; 1) Very large front room and dining table that accommodated ample seating including two very comfortable XL twin beds on the back wall. 2) Two very nice BRs and a large 'country' kitchen with table for 4 including connecting to a nice sitting area and the bathroom 3) Large backyard with BBQ area, large table to dine and misc comfortable seating around. 4) All of the above was very clean and maintained! The meditation area was very unique providing lots of sitting areas, beautiful flowers and plants and those adorable bantam chickens - Billy Idol, Sammy Davis, Louise and the Nut Job were a kick! - the kids went out every morning and bonded quickly - Thank YOU Peter and Bev...this was a very good experience for us.
