Overlooking Southport's beautiful bay, Rock Lobster offers the perfect base to explore Tasmania's Far South...with an elegant and stylish accommodation awaiting your return each day. Stroll across to the beach and throw in a line...hire a local kayak and test the waters...or just sit back on your expansive deck and enjoy the laid back lifestyle of tranquil Southport. Rock Lobster features stunning views, modern amenities, NBN WIFI and an outdoor 2 person spa hot tub for the perfect romantic retreat! Please note the following when booking Rock Lobster: The upper level consists of three bedrooms and one bathroom. A separate lockable space is on the lower level with one queen bed and ensuite bathroom When booking for 2-6 guests, you will have access to the top level house only. When booking for more than 6 guests you will have access to all 4 bedrooms. Please contact us with specific requirements All bookings have exclusive use of the house including gourmet kitchen, dining and living areas

Extremely nice house in good location to explore the far south from.

Had pretty lousy weather unfortunately, which prevented fishing (though the teens tried!). Overall, the house is excellent, great views and near the waterfront, jetty etc. It has a heat pump so was cosy in cold weather. Aso a good-quality Saxon wood-heater, though we only lit it once. Beds were okay, though not the advertised three queens and one king, actually three doubles (a bit short for 6-footers) and a queen. The ads just say sheets are provided, whereas actually there is all bedding, with warm doonas. Rooms are spacious and four bedrooms really useful. The master bedroom is on the ground floor, everything else upstairs. Master has an ensuite (which I don't think is mentioned in the ads), very convenient, and means the house actually has TWO bathrooms/toilets, not just one as advertised. The ads need updating for accuracy — mostly, it is BETTER than represented. VERY well-appointed throughout — cutlery, crockery, toaster etc. all top drawer. Plenty of lounge room furniture and a classy extension table and comfortable dining chairs. Stove is good, but thermostats on the two right-hand elements were not working so one had to be very careful not to burn things, turning on and off manually. No reflection on the owners. it is a "hidden" problem, but we have had this issue on our own stove, so recognized it quickly and took precautions. It is important to bring provisions, the solitary store at the pub is NOT great and has limited hours. Excellent friendly communications.

Wonderful Location

Really great location and amenities, the deck and the hot tub make Rock Lobster a great place to stay when the weather is nice. The communication with the property manager was also excellent. The cleanliness of the property was below expectations, cleaning supplies provided were inadequate so we had to drive up to Dover to buy a scrubbing brush to do the dishes after breakfast on the first day. Otherwise we had an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful getaway with a view, fireplace, and spa.

We had a fantastic quiet stay at the end of the world in Southport. Large deck, fireplace, spa, and a fully equipped kitchen. The only thing I would change is to get a BBQ grill (not hotplate) and put it out on the front deck for a BBQ with a view. Not a showstopper, if you go check out the secret walking tracks behind town.

Fantastic getaway location for the family

This was a wonderfully situated property. Right on beach with wonderful views across the ocean to Bruny Island and beyond. The house was very nicely decked out with lots of wonderful touches and the spa really added an additional wow factor to the experience. Perfect location for exploring a fantastic part of Tasmania.
