First we called ahead to explain that we would be late arriving. When we arrived, we were told that the reservation from Expedia, which was for 2 rooms (we had email confirmation of this from Expedia) was incorrectly communicated to the hotel as only 1 room. So they found another room for us in a nearby hotel and paid for it, which definitely made up for it, but we are left wondering who was at fault.
The less than perfect rating is for a pile of dirty towels that were permanently in front of our room, which was room #2. I don't know if it's because the laundry is right there, but that is not professional. Also, this is a delightful, high end hotel, with a very high end courtyard restaurant that you have to pass through to get to the reception and then your room. The problem with that is that we felt very self conscious because we arrived by bicycle and were dusty and sweaty to say the least, walking by diners dressed to the nines trying to have an exceptional experience in this elegant setting.
