The building's load-bearing structures are primarily made of wood with a prefabricated frame, complemented by natural insulation materials, a green roof, and highly efficient systems engineered to reduce energy consumption and emissions across the entire life cycle. The exposed cork facades integrate photovoltaic modules on the south and west sides, seamlessly merging energy production with a distinctive architectural identity. "Lo Scudo di Stabio" is the first building in Ticino to be SNBS certified and holds both the Minergie-P-ECO certification (no. TI-011-P-ECO) and the Swisstainable Level II label, recognising its outstanding ecological, social, and economic quality.
