“If one is interested in "glitz", the Oloffson is not your place. It is very full of history (read Graham Greene's The Comedians, set here during Duvalier years). The place and rooms are unique, clean, certainly functional and with fascinating grounds.”

“Great location, near presidents house: local White House and Central Park , national museum, with a lot of landmarks to take a look as well as photos. It is one of the most safe areas in Haïti. And the owner is resourceful and helpful. An associated taxi driver named Gustana is very good and reliable. He will help you find the bus from Haïti to Santo Domingo. Perhaps I am one of the first Chinese tourists who take bus to Dominican Republic. ”

“This is a budget hotel, and located in a fairly tough area of Port-au-Prince. The room was basic, but spacious. It had only a tiny bit of warm water. The air conditioner thankfully worked. No one on the staff could speak much English. They provided a free shuttle to the airport. I would probably not stay there again, but if you are on a very tight budget, you can get by for a night.”
