We moved to a hotel. It was just creepy, There were cobwebs on the furniture, it was hot, no air conditioning, it is on a highway right under the main window that motorcycles without mufflers race up and down. Did I mention hot? There was no way to latch the windows open to get air through and the windows were single pane and not seated properly so they vibrated like crazy. They advertise WiFi which consisted of a little plug in card unit that we could connect to but which had little or no connection to the internet itself. But for the cobwebs, it seemed like someone moved their grandmother out in the morning to try to make some money.

Worth it for the view alone

We liked being away from the crowds in town in this spacious apartment with a large balcony. We didn't have a car for much of the trip, and the walk into and out of town was great exercise, and a good excuse for a large meal later. There isn't a welcome/intro book, so any questions have to go directly to the management company. I prefer having a lot of basic questions answered in a few pages left in the apartment. A few tips for future guests. There is a private parking space in the garage, but it is small and difficult to get into unless you have a very small car. The management company doesn't even tell you about the garage (but it's mentioned in the written material they send electronically) since the few spaces of street parking just up the hill and across the street are much easier to use if you can get one. Although we never had to use the garage, it was nice to know that we could if the street parking was not available. The wifi modem is on the table by the sofa. The password is on the modem. Only 4 connections are allowed at a time. Some of the dishes are in the kitchen cabinets, but a lot are also in the buffet/cabinet in the living/dining room. It took us awhile to think to look there. There are 2 ways to walk down into town which bypass most of the streets. It's a bit difficult to describe - our taxi driver pointed one out to us. We found the other by poring over google maps. The management company might be able to help.

La location offre une vue magnifique sur Stresa et le lac, ce que nous recherchions. Cependant, la location est trĂšs difficile (et dangereuse) d'accĂšs sans voiture et avec bagages. Le mĂ©nage n'avait pas non plus Ă©tĂ© fait: meubles de cuisine collants, vaisselle Ă  laver avant utilisation, poussiĂšre sur et sous les meubles, cheveux dans douche, etc. Chaque message Ă  la gĂ©rance est restĂ©e sans rĂ©ponse. Nous connaissions dĂ©jĂ  Stresa, donc ces dĂ©sagrĂ©ments ne nous ont pas empĂȘchĂ©s d'apprĂ©cier notre sĂ©jour, mais nous ne reprendrons pas de logement avec cette agence.

Une vue imprenable qui ne fait pas oublier un appartement presque vetuste

Appartement plutÎt spacieux mais au confort sommaire, qui mériterait bien une petite rénovation. La literie n'est pas bonne du tout, l'eau chaude met énormément de temps à venir, l'abattant des WC était bancal, et l'appartement dans son ensemble bénéficierait fortement d'un rafraßchissement. Néanmoins nous avons passé un super séjour dans cette région, et la magnifique vue de l'appartement et sa localisation sont un trÚs grand avantage, ainsi que sa terrasse (mais dont nous n'avons pas profité car trop frais en cette période).

Maggiore stay

Great views of Lake Maggiore from the large covered terrace. Apartment was clean but needs some updating - smaller bedroom with trundle was not optimal for adults. Short but steep walk down to Stresa city center (5-10 minutes). Good communication with hosts and easy check-in. Apartment is on a very busy street, but allows for easy access down to town or to autostrada.

Better view than the nicest hotels

If you’re renting this property it’s for the view, it’s breathtaking and probably better than even the nicest hotels on the lake. Walking into town didn’t seem very easy, so we drove into town each day and parked, which worked out fine. When we were there it was very hot and muggy. The apartment doesn’t have A/C and there was only 1 fan. A second fan would have made a big difference. We were trying to share one fan between two bedrooms, wasn’t great. But the View makes up for that.
