Upon arrival, the staff was very attentive and friendly....offering information on amenities on and off site. At first glance the waterfront location was attractive with a well maintained grassy area in front of the lodging with nice patio furniture and fire pits with available firewood, as well as kettle-type barbeques. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. Cabin 2, where we stayed was small and cramped. The furniture was broken down, dirty, with numerous stains. The bedrooms (there were 2) were furnished with broken down full (not queen) beds which made for very uncomfortable sleeping. Worst hotel/motel bed I have ever encountered. The tiny bathroom was dirty (including the toilet) and the shower/tub was equally bad. The kitchen was acceptable with the exception of the plates and silverware being dirty. They did have a sign saying that you should rewash plates and silverware before using. WHAT? To top it off, the HVAC rattled and banged whenever it was in use. What could have been wonderful lodging was ruined by neglect and disrepair. Sorry for the poor review because the staff seemed genuine for their enthusiasm with the Snug Harbor Inn.
