"The stand out about this hotel is the people. Everything with the property is excellent. But a hotel is about people. The people that care for you here are so lovely and warm that they feel more like family. You really look forward to seeing them every day and engaging them on the traditions and culture of Japan. "

"The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The TV is equipped with Netflix and other streaming services and easy to use. The location is superb for exploring Gion and Higashiyama, and not far from a metro station to get to the rest of town. The free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station is a nice bonus. The one negative is that the gym is quite small, with only a few free weights and a treadmill. If that matters to you, consider a guest membership at a nearby local gym or a different hotel. "
