Cottage #5 - Quaint, clean, comfortable cottage just 20 miles from Key West. Bring the family. One of our most spacious cottages; it offers a full kitchen, screened patio, two queen bedrooms. This cottages is only steps away from our pool. The dock and seawall are all available to our guests. A coin laundry is also available on site. Whether you come to the Florida Keys to escape the winters, or enjoy the calm waters and great fishing and diving of the summers, you will find Cudjoe Oceanside Cottage to be your Home Away From Home.

We had a great time! The host was very accommodating and everything was ready upon our arrival. The cottage was clean and comfortable. And if you love a good shower, well this shower head and water pressure was amazing! Bring quarters because the washer and dryer are out back and coin operated. Both worked great! We sat by the pool while we did our laundry. Best laundry day ever! We hope to come back next year. Thanks for everything!
Sorry I didn't take any pics at the cottage but I did take this at Bahia Honda State park which was just a short drive away as well and many other places of interest.

The location was in close proximity to Key West and in a quiet area. The manager did allow us to check in an hour early. The shower had great water pressure. It wasn’t terrible but wasn’t wonderful. The emailed instructions gave us the wrong wifi sign-on instructions but eventually found the instructions on the refrigerator. We visited in January and the temperature was cool outside. We spent most of the days away from the cottage. The instructions said to not set the temp below 75 or the A/C would freeze. Needless to say we obeyed and it was very hot and stuffy. The next night we opened windows and ran the fan and it was still hot. I messaged the manager and told her the temp was 81 when we returned to the house. (Outside it was 74) She didn’t seem to believe me when I explained that the a/c cooled for a short period and then began to blow warm air. She instructed me to lower the temp to 73 and let her know. Same thing happened. That night we opened windows again. She said she would let the A/C man know on the following day which was the day we left. In addition lights didn’t work in some areas, fans rattled and the furniture was heavily used and old. Bed frames were very loose and squeaky. Heated pool was 2 rows of houses away where a rented house was located. Too far to walk wet and cold (58 degrees the last night) The house and grounds need upkeep. Chairs around the exterior broken and concrete in disrepair. I would not stay here again.

Stay was ok. Fridge wouldn’t stay cold. Got a replacement but it was on the day we were leaving so that didn’t help. Air conditioner stopped working and was smoking. Tech came out and the motor burned out. The owner did try and fix the issues right away. Just made for a uncomfortable and inconvenient stay.

The roof didnt leak, there was water and a place to sleep.

dont assume there is water and power at the dock, there is not. There is a fish cleanig station but you cannot discard fish there. the channel is shallow and VERY POORLY marked. Also dont assume your room is "on" the water. Out place was about a 300ft walk to the boat which is a good distance to cary gear everyday. Room was clean other than the hair in the bed under the blanket. The AC was not allowed to be turned down under 75* because it would freez up the unit. There were not enough towels to dry off the four people that it advertised it accommodated. ETC.......

Cozy in Cudjo Key

Spacious, clean and comfortable place to stay in the lower keys. Safe and quiet at night. Bed sheets and towels included. Kitchen had what we needed for cooking. Pool was clean and there is a concrete dock on the water. Coin operated washer/dryer available out the back door. Great location. Minutes from diving in Looe Key and the Big Pine Key restaurants and Winn Dixie. Key west sunset at Fort Zachery Taylor is 30 minute drive.

Property was ok

This property could be a jewel. After I booked I got a long list of rules and things I would have to provide for myself. I don't mind providing my own toilet paper and paper towels--the tone set just was not welcoming. We have stayed at so many great places where we felt cared for. That was not the case here. It' was not as clean as I would have liked. The kitchen was really nice but the refrigerator periodically leaked onto the floor. The bathroom was nice but there was nowhere to put your things. The bedrooms were homey and beds were ok. The living room was sunken with a step down, I would have wanted to avoid if I had known. The tiny living room was furnished with castoffs; a broken recliner and TV with volume which could not be turned up. I had to perch myself about two feet from the TV to hear it. The WIFI password they sent me was wrong, so I had to call mgt to get the correct one. The only lighting was harsh overhead light. The pool looked nice - I saw someone else enjoying it. There were two docks and views of the water. But nowhere to sit and enjoy the view except a picnic table. I would have liked to taken a chair down there to enjoy the view with a drink, but thought that might be breaking some rule. The grounds had lovely trees and bushes, but piles of junk and broken up concrete here and there. The washer and dryer worked well and at 1.25 a load were reasonable. But the wash room, a shed behind the pool was dirty and depressing without a working light.

Some updates needed

Overall rating of good. Lovely, updated kitchen and bathroom, the shower was fabulous. It had a great area for the dogs, the beds were comfortable, but the living room needs a lot of work. It wasn’t comfortable to sit and relax to watch tv. The remote for the tv was missing and the cable remote wasn’t working so that was challenging. We finally fixed it. The blinds were torn, and you can hear your neighbors conversations. The location was good and it was clean. Not sure we would stay there again, but there are other homes on the property that also rent.

Nice place to travel with pets

Overall I appreciate having a rental where I can take my two dogs. However, if I did not have my dogs I would probably not stay here. Some of the furniture was broken. The exterior needs some TCL. Everything was a little run down but decent.
