Perfect location

This was our first time to Sun Valley and the location of this property is perfectly located to the River Run base area. It was a short skate ski to get there. The manager of the property, Cheri, is very available. Wall to wall in the master bathroom lets you know immediately that this property is very dated! Kitchen appliances are updated but limited for utensils for cooking. Pots and pans very old. Beds comfortable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I have been staying at Pennay's for years, on both summer and winter trips. We love staying here for many reasons, but primarily because it's dog-friendly, is a great location, and feels like home! There is a perfect walking trail and nearby field to get your dog out, it's right at the base of the mountain (closer than any other places), and the units are clean and the owners are super responsive if anything is needed. We love staying here and always look forward to coming back!

Pennay’s came highly recommended to us by friends of ours who live in Hailey and it did not disappoint. Location was fantastics and our unit had plenty of space for our family. We arrived early on check in day and Cheri graciously allowed us to get into our unit early. It was a great start to our stay. We will definitely be back.

Great location close to the city core but nicely in the trees near the river with bike path, river access and dog walking nearby. Loved sitting in the hot tub watching people running up the mountain at night for some race they were doing. Staff/owner answered right away and addressed every thing we needed. Happy for the off season timing of our rent so not too crowded yet. Thanks very much guys. My ding on the spotless was because there was dust about due to the windows being open, but I'd rather have open windows and fresh air.

Great space, great location

This space fit us perfectly for a few days of snowboarding — just a short walk to the lifts and to downtown. Check in and check out was easy also. No complaints!

Annual ski trip

Property was as advertised and very convenient. Very close to slopes with short glide down path. Would suggest it is time for a few minor updates to property: faucets in kitchen and master bathroom, bed in master bedroom and kitchen pans. Would definitely consider this location again in future.

The unit was large, clean and very comfortable. Alan Pennay is a gracious owner who even let us use his Suburban to buy groceries! He also gave us a last minute ride to the airport in Hailey when Sun Valley Limo never showed up after we confirmed our reservation twice (and never answered their phone that morning!)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a very large condo, with room to entertain. While the decor is quite dated, it definitely has an authentic Sun Valley vibe. The kitchen had everything we needed and the unit itself was quite clean, light and bright. The location was great -- we were able to ski over to River Run, and pole back. The only real issue was that the hot tub, while also spacious and operational was not clean. The water was cloudy and there was significant debris in the tub and the skimmer.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: An "ok" place to stay, nothing great. I would look for another place next time I visit Sun Valley.+ Great location, very close to the lifts. However, this place is not ski-in/ski-out (I dont think they have those at Sun Valley), so we ended up driving to the ski slopes, in which case we could have stayed further from the slopes. The walk to the slopes is 200-250 yards, which is doable, but with our skis we did not want to walk that + The place is big (1500 sq ft). The living room especially. Bedrooms have good space.+ The kitchen was well equipped - The place has very low end finishes, from sofas to the dressers, etc. It is functional but cheap- The bed sucks. I slept poorly. I just think it was a poor quality bed, and the pillows too- WiFi was very poor. It worked in the kitchen and living room, but did not work in the bedrooms at all- Heating worked well in the living/dining room, but it was freezing cold in the bedrooms and there was no thermostat or control in the bedroom - Water in the bathtub kept backing up

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great overall experience. We had nine people-6 in unit 1 and 3 in unit 19. Great location and accommodations overall, and very nice folks. Only issues were aluminum foil in the bottom of unit 1 oven was not clean and created a lot of smoke during first use, and washer did not work until last day. In unit 19, the fireplace never worked after being told it would be repaired in a couple of days. We gave the owners a chance to compensate but they did not. So future guests may want to get something in writing in case something like this happens.

Convenient but a bit outdated

Could not ask for more convenient access to the river run slopes. But the furniture is a bit tired and the unit needs updating. Bus route doesn’t operate after 6 pm.
