The sounds of surf

We went to Sunshine Beach to catch up with family. Accomodation was wonderfully designed for family socialising, lots of areas for everyone to be together or get a private spot for some quiet time. Grat to have surf life savers down the hill everyday, so I could feel safe swimming.

Great spot

This is an modern architectural home with an impressive fit out and well appointed kitchen and nice swimming pool. The fold away sofa is in its own den which makes the house more akin to a 4 bedroom home than a 3 bedroom home. The home has sweeping views of the ocean from two different veranda levels and a generous sized out door eating bbq area which takes in the afternoon sun. It is located within about 30 metres of the main cluster of shops and restaurants in Sunshine Beach when accessed across the lane way at the bottom of the garden and a pleasant stroll from the beach and surf club. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay here, and sadly the maintenance of the unit appears to be somewhat not up to par. We always believe in leaving a unit in the same (or even better!) shape than when we use it, but I suppose others don't take the same pride. The cleaners probably were rushed so the stairs (there are a lot) were filthy -- likely because guests wear their shoes in the house!). There were a few things that were worn down - shower toggle in main bathroom was broken and hook was falling off, elevator was broken, power failure on our last day when we tried to use the oven (and it was a holiday weekend so difficult to reach anyone), and the beautiful laminate cupboard in the bathroom was all swelled up like someone had left a pool of water on it. Very sad. Still, the location is simply the best -- hopefully they won't be building in front of this unit as the views are beautiful, though the neighbours who recently sold their unit were concerned. Fingers crossed as this is a gorgeous property in a divine location!
