Family Fun 2024

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was as described with adequate provisions. One problem was the lack of instruction regarding the TV use. There were no written instructions and the controls were complicated. Also lack of information to all TVs in the bedrooms. Many of the bed frames were very squeaky. We paid for early arrival and the door code was not updated so had trouble entering the property. Also because of early arrival I had to call for sheets and towels to be delivered. Since Garden City knew we were coming in early these should have been addressed. That being said, Garden City was prompt in responding to the issues.

The location is fantastic with great places to eat/drink within walking distance, the beach within walking distance and relatively quiet roads to travel by foot. The private pool is a nice touch as well. The cleanliness of the home on arrival was mediocre at best as the steps going into the house were covered with a lot of sand, the floors were not cleaned well and the shower curtains were a little iffy. The linens received were clean and a nice touch. The master bed was a full instead of a king or queen which was disappointing to say the least.

She was always ready to find an answer to any questions I had.Check in/out was an easy process.We were a little disappointed when we entered the home. It was not cleaned very well. The coffee maker was not clean, kitchen cabinets by the sink were sticky, and there were spots on the wall at corner of counter between kitchen and living room.A couple of the bathrooms(downstairs and shared one upstairs) had slow drain in the tubs.There was trash under beds and a dirty women's swimsuit left in a master bedroom bath upstairs.We love staying in Surfside Beach. Have done so for many years. Staying in Beach Therapy was overall a good experience. But the cleaning prior to entering was poor as explained above. It didn't even smell like it had been cleaned.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 12 enjoyed Beach Therapy. Kitchen was well stocked with materials to make meals. The pool was very nice and warm. We do wish we had a pool skimmer as the flowers from the neighbors bush kept filling the pool. House is close to restaurants and shops. The walk to the beach is about equivalent to three blocks. Fair warning to those with small children, the beach access is between two bars that were very busy most days. There is no water at the access so you will walk back with sand on your feet. There are two outdoor showers at the house though. Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a great time together.

Great Location - Close to Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location of the house was great - only a couple minute walk to the beach. The pool was rather small (which we knew before renting) but still large enough for our 5 kids to enjoy. The only complaint was the quality of the beds - they were smaller than advertised (there seems to be 2 fulls, not one, with the balance being queens and one king) and if you are over 30, you will likely wake up with a sore back from most of the beds. The house was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. We had very little dealings with the realty company, as we had no reason to contact them during our stay, but (aside from the loooong line to check in on a Saturday at 6:00 pm), they were great - professional and helpful.

Convenient access to beach, and plenty of restaurants bars within walking or short driving distance. However the house could use some improvements. The carpets are filthy! The dishwasher does not work well if at all. It looks like its 30 years old and on our last night did not drain and spilled water all over the kitchen floor. When we arrived, our one shower had a clogged drain and the shower curtain was covered in black mold. Not sure how your cleaning staff could not have caught that. To have that much mold it had to have been there for weeks! I did call your office and both shower issues were resolved in a few days but spending that type of money, you should not have to deal with those types of issues. We would stay there again but only if carpets were replaced.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: upon arrival we realized the excessive amount of fruit fly’s in the rental as well as bridal party decor still in the unit. While unpacking our children’s items in the rooms we were very unpleased to find lubricant still in the drawer as well as clothes and trash located behind multiple beds and dressers With notes clearly stating that you “clean under the beds too “. we did make house keeping aware of this issue and they did come out to clean the third floor for us but had no solution to the fruit flys and asked me if I had any suggestions for them. While finally trying to enjoy ourselves my father in law went to sit in one of the plastic chairs which was apparently broken and the leg was just placed under it. The location of this house is perfect the lawn guy was the most friendliest gentleman. But after this experience we unfortunately will most likely never rent from garden city realty again.
