Rural Cotswold Cottage in grounds of beautiful Nell House
The Cottage at Nell House is a beautiful oak framed conversion sleeping 4 in two bedrooms. It is located on the edge of the small and peaceful country village of Hannington in the South Cotswolds where the counties of Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire meet. The village has a "pub" within walking distance and is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds in your car. It is a 90 minute drive from Heathrow Airport.
The cottage has an open plan kitchen living area on the ground floor, with a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and microwave, and a seating area including two sofas and large TV. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as a toilet and shower room. The entire upstairs floor is an en-suite double bedroom with separate seating area, sofa and TV. The staircase is open to the ground floor.
The cottage sits in the landscaped grounds of Nell House, with a large decking area, gas BBQ, and outdoor seating for 4. It overlooks the lake and is surrounded by wildlife such as moorhens, ducks, fish and if you're lucky deer and a kingfisher.
There are extensive grounds including a croquet lawn and fields with farm animals.
Unusually for rural areas Ultrafast Broadband of 100 Mbps++ is included making working from the cottage or streaming movies on the Smart TV very easy.

It was quiet, clean, fully functional kitchen, and perfect for the 3 of us travelling together. We used it as a base to visit many attractions from Bath to Marlborough, Blenheim to Portsmouth and everything in between.

Cute cottage in great location
This cute cottage provided everything we needed for a very enjoyable 5 night stay. Situated in the lovely and quiet grounds of the owners main property who were very engaging and helpful but not intrusive. Great location to enjoy so many beautiful areas of the Cotswolds/Wiltshire.

Jo and James, they are nice, likeable and obliging at anytime.
Jo, who we met most, had a lot hints for activities and worthwhile destinations. Thank you very much for lending your house to us for a wonderful time.
+ the house and the property:
A nice little oak house on a wonderfully beautiful property. Everything needed for holiday is in place. We felt exceedingly well.
+ region around
Additionally to Jo's very helpful hints we had a perfect home base to starting our day trips to different destinations into the cotswolds and beyond.
+ weather
sunshine and rain are fine and are necessary. Around 90% rain this autumn didn't make holidays constantly a feast. So, Jo and James, please work on that ;), so that we can enjoy a bit more next time to everything mentioned above.

Amazing country cottage
We loved our stay at Nell Cottage. Beautiful setting, so tranquil and relaxing. James and Joanna were perfect hosts. Loved watching the ducks and other animals. Gorgeous gardens. Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely recommend.

Relaxing country cottage
Nell cottage is set in rural England a short drive from Swindon and a stones throw from the stunning Cotswolds. The cottage is set in the most stunning grounds and overlooks a large pond which has bird life a plenty, The family who run it are lovely they are helpful and respect your privacy. Their communication with guests is superb.
The cottage was clean and had all the facilities required to make yourself comfortable. Including, a fridge, microwave, oven, cutlery and crockery, towels and bedding. They also provide super fast wifi. We stayed a week before returning to Australia and the peaceful surroundings gave us chance to unwind before our long flight home. If you love peace and tranquility and enjoy watching Indian runner ducks and horses, and close proximity to the stunning Cotswolds this is the place for you. Had a great week long stay - day tripping in all directions. Great central spot to visit both Cotswolds and Salisbury Plain! Hosts were great. We were the first guests of the season and so were the test run. No big issues. Had a great time, Jo and James were great hosts

Wonderful house and area
We, and especially our kids, enjoyed the stay in the Nell House Cottage. Everything was very well organized. Our girls loved the animals and the location is good to have day trips to the Cotswolds, Oxford or Stonehenge.

More than phantastic
It was a very peaceful and wonderful time in Nell house with very gentle hosts. They helped us with words and deeds. The cottage was so cosy and clean. The pictures in the Internet were so fine but the reality outranged the pictures. The scene was very idyllic, so it was hard to go away. And we love the horses and the ducks.

Lovely country cottage
Directions and arrival instructions were accurate and easy to follow.
The cottage is well appointed and spacious. Access to the upstairs bathroom is a little restricted but not a significant problem.
As mentioned in the owners description, transport is required as there is nothing in the immediate area. However this means it's a lovely quiet countryside environment.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the lovely area.

Hidden Gem
Cosy cottage in a peaceful location. Kitchen equipment was totally acceptable but would benefit from an upgrade. An ideal rental for people who like nature, birds and wildlife. James and Jo were very welcoming and helpful.

Ideal location and facilities. Two separate bedrooms each with own bathroom facilities and space to independently watch tv/relax/IT if necessary and socialise comfortably in the shared open plan dining/kitchen/lounge area. Charming country cottage
Spacious 2 bedroom cottage offered by friendly hosts with Ducks,Horses and Sheep for neighbours. Ideal quiet , relaxing.rural location on edge of Cotswolds in easy reach of many places to visit, shop and eat.
We had glorious weather all week and dined outsde every night on the decking beside the large pond.
