Hello Lorraine,Thank you for your one night stay with us.We have a beautifully refurbished Hampton style licensed lounge bar, so no byo of alcohol or takeaways are permitted in this area, though should you have wanted to purchase a snack and a drink and you need only have asked at the bar. Adjacent, our licensed restaurant also has more substantial options. The majority of our rooms denote sweeping grandeur and are spacious beyond any local guesthouse offering between the Central Tablelands and Sydney, with extensive room to stretch out should you elect to byo. However you chose to book one of our limited budget layover rooms that we generally offer guests who are overnighting between distances. The veranda is a thoroughfare area for other guests but there is ample furniture all across our serene English gardens that you could have used, and also delightful and romantic seating with cushions and throw blankets in our garden gazebo across the lawn in direct sight of your window that you could have enjoyed. We hope that you will make the time to book a longer stay with us in future so that you can more accurately take in the facilities, enjoy our heritage retreat rooms, and join us for a complimentary drink at the bar on your next sojourn into the mountains.

Hello Marcella,Thank you for your recent stay.All of your items could very easily have been addressed if you phoned us directly and discussed your needs ahead of booking. Every hotel loves the opportunity of direct bookings! However, when you use a third party booking site to make a last minute booking and then make demands after the fact, there is little flexibility.The budget room type you booked was a EXACTLY as pictured and matched your online booking confirmation. The room type you demanded for you and your infant when you arrived was the honeymoon suite which was booked out weeks in advance and is not suitable for children, particularly when you intend on bringing loads of messy takeaway into your room. Yes we were fully booked on the winter school holiday Saturday of your checkout, there were no bookable rooms left in the entire village on this day so we are sorry to disappoint your entitlement to a late checkout at this peak time. Though we are pleased to note you did in-fact enjoy your stay and desired to spend longer in your room. You may not have seen many cars on the night of your brief overlay, because unlike all other venues in Leura we have many travellers who arrive by train given our unique location in the village and proximity to the station.As you booked a room-only rate, breakfast was not offered. The heating in your room was replaced with modern efficient heating - we are of the belief that size does not matter, and it’s great to note you weren’t actually cold!Leura House has many different room types and caters to many different guests, but we do encourage everyone to give us a call so that we can match your expectations to the products we have on offer.

Hello Erin,The historic property is beautifully and consistently maintained in line with heritage standards and is professionally rated 4 stars. Should you have needed extra towelling during your stay you need only have requested, although fresh towing was supplied to your room daily. The heating was more than adequate as the maid specifically noted she was overwhelmed by the temperature upon servicing your room each day. Had you needed any further assistance with your bedding, again we would happily have sent housekeeping to help. Please always feel free to communicate directly with staff at the time of your stay. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment, but we were very delighted to see that your children had a very happy time and enjoyed their experience at this small icon of Australia’s history.

We have a few minimal basic entry level queen rooms priced for budget travellers and these don’t have fridges - the details of what facilities each room offers are listed on the booking page before you complete your booking. However, for a very small additional fee you can opt to book a deluxe room, all of which have fridges if this convenience of importance to you.
