Bright Two-Room Apartment in Syracuse Near Ortigia & the Sea
A cozy and bright one-bedroom apartment of about 28 square meters, perfect for one or two people. Located in the heart of the historic Borgata neighborhood of Syracuse, at Via Iceta 2, on the corner of Via Riviera Dionisio il Grande, just a short walk from a small beach. The layout is as follows: Entryway/Living Room: a functional space with a fully equipped kitchen (two-burner stove and sink), a table for two, a two-seater sofa, and a television. From here, you can access a small interior balcony overlooking the courtyard, which is very handy and reserved for hanging laundry. A convenient washing machine is also available for guests. Bedroom and Bathroom: a bright bedroom with a comfortable bed (140 x 190 cm) and an en-suite bathroom. From the bedroom window, you can enjoy a pleasant view of the rooftops of the Borgata, looking toward the Riviera Dionisio il Grande. The location is ideal: you can walk to the city’s main attractions, including Ortigia, the Basilica of Saint Lucy—home to Caravaggio’s famous painting “The Burial of Saint Lucy”—the Greek Theater, the Archaeological Museum, and more. Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find a convenient path leading down to a small beach or, if you prefer, to the cliffs—ideal for snorkeling and exploring the seabed. A little further along, on Via Riviera Dionisio il Grande, there’s a fully equipped beach club that transforms into a restaurant/pizzeria in the evening and is the perfect spot for an excellent aperitif with a sea view. Furthermore, heading toward Ortigia, just a short distance from the accommodation, you’ll find the Sbarcadero Santa Lucia, a completely renovated waterfront: a beautiful pedestrian area with bars, pizzerias, and restaurants, perfect for a pleasant stroll that will take you right to the gates of Ortigia. The ideal, compact, and well-equipped option as a base for experiencing the sea and the culture of Syracuse! It also serves as a convenient base for exploring southeastern Sicily.
