Fantastic view

The hotel is located at an excellent location, with fantastic views of the Taal Lake and the volcano. The food in the restaurant is great, and the service is generally very good. The nearby area also has many nice places to eat, but they mostly require a little bit of walk. Due to the much cooler weather up there than that in Manila, people flock into the area for the weekends, but that also means the pool may be a bit too cold to enjoy a swim… Overall, I would say it was a very nice stay experience.

soundproof and service need a notch up

checked in after a hike to volcano Taal with some colleagues. The room is connected to an adjacent room and thus soundproof is not good as I could hear anything happening next door, particularly a noisy kid crying for everything. I went to ask for assistance. after some negotiation, I settled for an accessible room with two beds for myself and no bathtub. as it is still connecting to another room but the receptionist promised no one would move in since it was quite late already. unfortunately, after a short walk before dinner, I found the same thing happening again. sick of keeping changing room, I just asked for a pair of ear plugs to get through the night, the receptionist denied with some sort of contempt on her face and told me she would ask the next door guests to tune down the voice. after a poor quality night, i went to have breakfast. right after took some food to my table, a waitress approached me and asked me to better dress as I was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt (am I on holiday?). although I was offered with their clothes. for hygiene sake, I went back to my room to change (by the way, a small piece of notice indeed hung in the cabinet requiring a dress code in restaurant and bar). in a couple of minutes, I went back to the restaurant and found my table was cleaned. a funny hotel to say the least.

Taal Vista Hotel is truly one of a kind. This is not a hotel you compare to modern chain properties—and that’s exactly its charm. It’s historic, nostalgic, and carries an older, classic style that gives it real character. The rooms may feel dated to some, but that’s part of the experience. It’s not for everyone, but it was absolutely perfect for me and my family. Many have already mentioned the beautiful views, and they are absolutely magical. Waking up to the scenery and enjoying it throughout the day truly elevates the entire stay and adds to the hotel’s timeless appeal. The food was another highlight of our stay. There’s a great selection at very reasonable prices, and everything we tried—from the breakfast buffet to ordering à la carte from the menu—was delicious. A fun bonus was the trio of singers who perform for guests and will sing just about any song you request, which really added to the overall experience. What truly sets Taal Vista apart is the staff. The level of hospitality is outstanding. Everyone—and I mean everyone—goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. The team is consistently warm, friendly, and attentive. Special thanks to Bernadette and Joy, who made our stay especially memorable and made us feel genuinely pampered. If you appreciate history, charm, magical views, great food, and exceptional service, Taal Vista is a place you’ll truly enjoy.

The Mountain view rooms could use updating to the level of the Lake view rooms. The rooms themselves are dated and lack the resort feel on the Lake view rooms. The scenic view was magnificent. Located high in the mountans and overlooking Taal volcano and Taal lake. The room was very spacious, and the check in and check out staff were very kind and friendly.
