If you're looking for the cheapest motel in Tallahassee, you found it. My advice would be to spend a couple bucks more and book somewhere you've he.
I needed a last-minute room after unexpectedly stopping in TLH while traveling through. I booked the cheapest room and when I entered, it overwhelmed me with a stench that was a mix of human sweat, weed smoke, and strong cleaning products. The AC would not budge past the low setting. The walls were stained. The smoke detector was missing, with wires dangling in its place. The shower was missing a curtain. And the absolute final straw was when I looked at the bed and noticed there was no mattress cover. Just a flimsy sheet between me and the dingy mattress that has seen godknowswhat over the years.
I returned to the front desk, and the receptionist (I should mention all the staff I interacted with were very nice and professional) understood my concerns, and she bumped me to a room that had been recently renovated. That room was adequate - which is all I was looking for. Non-smoking, with a mattress cover, shower curtain, and smoke detector. My only issue with the new room was that there was barely any water pressure, and the shower was ice cold. Fine - I can bear with an issue or two for what I paid.
It also appears that there are people living long term in the motel, wandering shirtless around the premises, drinking from open containers in the parking lot, and openly smoking weed in the corridors. Spend $20 more elsewhere.
