Even though it is not convenient location but the stay in middle of Kasbah is well worth it. Waleed took care of our needs and thanks to him our stay in Tangiers was a success.
Excellent experience with prompt check in, clean room and wonderful service. Brief power outage but didn’t affect our stay as we were leaving by then. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Liked: Property conditions & facilities
Navigating the medina was quite challenging and felt like a maze, which unfortunately attracted the attention of local fake guides offering 'help'. This made it quite stressful to find the property. Perhaps in the future, it might be beneficial if the hotel staff could meet guests at the gate upon arrival?
On a more positive note, the rooftop view was absolutely stunning and a real highlight of my stay. However, I did notice that there was no room refreshing? during my time there. Additionally, I found the breakfast and laundry service to be overpriced, which seemed to discourage guests from using them.
Lastly, the call to prayer was broadcast right next to my window, which might be disturbing for some guests. Given these experiences, I would recommend staying at a hotel in Tangier Central and visiting the Old Medina during the day.
Our hotelier, Marcel was wonderful and so helpful and we had laundry done for a very reasonable price and returned same day. It's difficult to get to the riad as cars can only get so close but it is very walkable to the coast, the ferry station, and all of the souks in the medina.
The bed was very hard as they are at most riads and unfortunately there was a mosque speaker right outside of the old wooden window frames so the prayers are VERY loud with the first at dawn and the last about an hour after sunset.
I do not recommend that single women stay anywhere in the medina. It did not feel safe at night as things were closing.
Even during the final days of Ramadan, with the call to prayer speakers close-by, Absinthe was a dream of a place. The rooftop. OmG. No. I cried for the beauty and the color of the sea, the white houses like cubes tumbling towards the blue sea. Loved every minute and hope to return. Can anyone ever forget the smell of harira soup being prepared ... children playing in the street below ... magical. Merci, Tanger!
Marcel was a wonderful host- friendly and welcoming. The place felt authentic and centrally located, making it perfect for my first visit to Tangier, Morocco. I absolutely loved my stay.
The host was perfect with giving all the information we needed and more, we came on a holiday where lots of things were closed and he diligently gave us tips and directions. His communication was flawless and we were able to reach him at anytime!
The lock on the room did not work so the door (and our belongings) was not secure. The woman who greeted us said that her colleague would be there shortly. More than two hours later, the lock was finally fixed. We were only in Tangier for one night and this is not the way we wanted to spend our time. There were no windows that opened to get fresh air. The air conditioner was stuck on 22, which the woman said was the "normal" temperature. It was too warm for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was not truly a bathroom - more of a wet room. When you showered, the entire room (with a low ceiling) got wet. There was a dehumidifier in the room, which took up space in the already small room. The room we stayed in faced the front of the medina. I was very loud as you could hear people outside all hours of the day and night. The location of the hotel was convenient, but that's the only good thing I can say about the place.
