Great hotel and staff very good.a bit old fashioned but that's what you come to expect from an authentic Italian hotel. Will definitely return to this hotel on our next visit. Breakfast was excellent and loved that you could go from the dining area straight down to the beach down a short flight of steps.full marks to the guys on the beach who kept up supplied with drinks and snacks.

We loved staying here! The staff, the beautiful views, the beach + patio, we could go on and on. The hotel is very clean and in my opinion, staying here made the entire trip to Taormina special. Being so close to the sea is vastly underrated!

Room was clean however hotel is dated and the A/C was poor. We stayed at several other hotels in Sicily that this wasn't an "Italy" standard. People at the desk were very friendly and helpful. Only drawbacks are you have to take a taxi into town, restaurants are NOT within walking distance and A/C is not acceptable in the middle of August heat. Beach was nice.

This hotel was outstanding. Cool retro vibe with a private beach in one of Sicily's most amazing locations - Taormina! The staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. The welcome fruit basket was a beautiful was to start our stay. The restaurant provided top of the line food and service. The breakfast buffet provided a little something for everyone in the family. And dining under the tree canopy while staring at the water was divine. We would love to come back and stay even longer.

Firstly, if you want to be away from the crowds and on the sea at a good price (for Taormina) then this location is good. However the road is very busy if you want to walk to the cable car and no pedestrian walkway so we never did it, it was actually cheaper to get a taxi to town anyway (€40 return vs €60). Hotel itself- very, very, very dated. The bathrooms were so bad it was almost funny. Curtain pulls barely functioned and the doorknobs had a learning curve to master. We are 2 females traveling alone so we really didn’t like the lack of a chain or other back-up lock on the door. One or two staff members were somewhat friendly, the rest were either ambivalent or downright rude (the breakfast waiter would have been better off staying in bed). A lifeguard saw my daughter fall on the steps to the beach and not only did he not make a move to help her up, he barely acknowledged that it happened. If you want drinks on the beach you can get them but it’s done with a “what do you want” attitude rather than anything resembling pleasantness. We went next door for our drinks and food every day rather than put out the lifeguard (who we think is in charge of the beach service but it’s hard to tell as he really doesn’t seem to want to help) or deal with the rude breakfast man, There was an older gentleman at the front desk that redeemed the service element of our stay and we thank him for that. Overall a nice stay but the place needs some TLC and maybe some staff retraining.

The Lido M is an older hotel, would say built in the 50’s, the rooms were a bit tight especially the bathroom, but overall well maintained and clean. The bed was a bit stiff but we slept well with the great sounds of the waves and the cool breezes of the ocean. It’s down at the bottom of the hill so getting to the Funivia or the city center is either a hike or a €20.00 cab ride. The best and most impressive thing about this resort are the people that operate it. Ms. Mona Lisa, Mr. Francesco and the team worked hard to make sure our needs were met, questioned answered, and our stay complete. The staff did everything in the power to locate a piece of lost luggage in Rome, which btw, we were successful in locating once we got back to Rome……(thanks ML for your tireless effort) It’s not a five star like some of the others in Taormina but you could not ask for a better staff. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning one day…
