Vardzia used to be hidden cave city, which could fit 50 thousands of people. Big part of it was unfortunately destroyed in earthquake in 1283. Still Vardzia is simply amazing complex full of mysteries.
Vardzia is a cave monastery site in southern Georgia, close Akhaltsikhe town. From Akhaltsikhe available transport is public bus. #monastery #vardzia #georgia #valley
Interesting fact is that five monks still lives in that mountain.
