My bucket list is to visit all 59 of the US National Parks. So far, we've been lucky enough to explore over 30. Here's one of them. Mesa Verde National Park is the only cultural #nationalpark of the 59 "set aside to preserve the work of man." Beyond cliff dwellings, there are beautiful canyons and it's not too far away from Four Corners National Monument where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado meet making for a great.

On a high plateau in Colorado, the Native American Puebloans build houses and even whole villages into the solid sandstone cliffs. They were built around 1200 AD but the dry weather and shelter has protected them from damage. One of the best preserved sites is Spruce Tree House, which you can explore on your own. You can also take guided tours of the large Cliff Palace (pictured) and Balcony House, which you have to climb a 32-foot wooden ladder and crawl through a tunnel to reach.
