The hosts were lovely, attentive and very amenable. We had a lovely room with ensuite facilities overlooking farmland, a comfy bed and all the facilities you could wish for. We were amazed by how quiet the location was which only led to a restful night's sleep. Would recommend.

The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was in the property forecourt. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The only issue was finding somewhere to dine. The local hotel could not accommodate us on the two occasions that we tried. The nearest was either Northern Sands or Castletown hotel both of which were a number of miles away.

Just a stop over whilst travelling NC500, very friendly hosts and very humerous, welcomed us on arrival and booked a restaurant for us up the road, room very cosy and breakfast was lovely, will definitely stay here again when in the area and recommend to any other traveller to stop over whilst passing by

A friendly, comfortable and well appointed B&B.
We felt very much at home straightaway from the hosts’ effusive welcome. The room was well appointed and comfortable with everything required. The shower was great and breakfast very good. Great to have ample, on site parking. All in all a really good overnight stay, highly recommended.

A great stay in a unique part of the world!
Lovely host, charming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the property was well laid out with lots of thoughtful touches. Breakfast was great too.

The hosts were absolutely wonderful. We had to leave early in the morning and wouldn’t be able to have breakfast and they brought some nice items for us the night before that we could quickly eat. Location was good for our stay and is very close to Castle Mey which we visited.

Nous avons passé un excellent moment à The Hawtorns. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques. Pleins de bons conseils et très serviables.
La chambre est grande, très confortable et très bien équipée.
Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner qui a été excellent.
Nous reviendrons très certainement.

The hosts were excellent and breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Parking is plentiful. Do get supplies before arriving as there are no shops nearby. Great location, close to John o Groat and access to NC500.

This was just an overnight after driving up from Dornoch and getting on the ferry to Orkney at Gills Bay the next morning. However Eilean and Graeme greeted us in the parking area and helped us move into our room. Provided us with lots of info on their property and where to eat. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast in the morning had lots of variety and our choices were delicious.
