"Our daughter stayed there, she was presenting for her PhD at Oxford’s U and we were supposed to be present there, however, the visa glitch for my wife prevented us from attending. According to my daughter she had great time at the hotel"

"We booked the hotel for seven nights. Upon arrival will the manager took us to the room that he assigned to us that was not in the building where we checked in but an outhouse. The house looked tumble down and he walked us up about 50 winding narrow stairs to what looked like an attic or a crows nest. The room had two single beds and had only room for the beds and had a small window in between with a ram shackle, drape and no air-conditioning. It was horrendous! I told him that we were not going to stay there. I have never seen anything that terrible. When I booked, the pictures provided were beautiful. Breakfast was included and was only yogurt and some muffins, and if you wanted a real breakfast, you had to pay for it. Construction and barricades are completely surrounding the hotel, and there was no mention of that either needless to say. The housekeeping was wonderful and the bathroom and room was very clean except for it the dirty carpets. The staff was very kind and helpful except for Will who gave us the worst possible room, even though there was no one else in the hotel! It was in a great location, but I would not stay at this place! Terrible!"

"I'll start with what we did like. It's very well situated and the centre of town was at the end of the street. What we didn't like: The front door was shut. We rang the doorbell. No reply. Called reception. No answer. Finally after trying the mobile phone number taped to the window, someone answered. This all happened while standing outside in the rain. I was then given the instructions on how to get in. These included the code to the key safe to open the front door only, directions to the (unmanned) reception where my room key would be in an unspecified "basket", I was told which room I'd be in and where to find the room. These instructions were not emailed to me in advance, they were recited to me rapidly while i hadn't even opened the front door. I was also told (for the first time) that my room would be on the first floor and the communal toilet and shower would be on the second. If I had known these facilities were shared I would not have booked here. Upon accessing the room, it smelled like someone had only left 5 minutes ago. The walls were scuffed, dirty and mouldy. The shower in the shared bathroom was dirty and mouldy too. I didn't shower the whole time I was there. I didn't see any staff while i was there and quite honestly felt like i was staying in student accommodation. In summary, I would not stay here again and was glad to leave."

"Voco is a nice hotel, however it is quite a walk to the centre of Oxford and not really centel as it might claim. I was dissapointed with the cost of parking even though there is lots of parking available and Voco is very expensive you still had to pay more for parking and the EV charging was also very expensive."
