Our family enjoyed our lake stay so much. The cabin was perfect for our group of 6 and had a great porch area to look down at the lake. The kids spent lots of time in the lake fishing and playing. We brought a paddle board with us and along w the provided kayaks, there was plenty to enjoy. We also spent a day on the Nantahala River at the NOC.

We had a great family vacation at the cabin. It was roomy, clean, peaceful, and private. You can't beat the views. We had everything we needed inside and were very comfortable. We found some fold up chairs for the deck. We spent one day boating and several days exploring the area and returned to the cabin for a relaxing evening of cooking, grilling, and campfires. Threw a line in and took walks as well. It's beautiful! We would definitely stay again. Kayaking was also a plus, clean, scenic lake.

Great Getaway Spot

Cabin was clean and host was very responsive. Great location to feel secluded from the outside world, but close enough to enjoy a nice dinner somewhere on the river or maybe a few spins at a nearby casino. Would definitely stay at this spot again!

Loved everything about the stay except the owners scheduled Pest Control during our stay who woke everyone up at 8am banging on the door. Imagine the thoughts going through our head….private road on hard to access mountain with only people we saw during entire stay were hunters with gun. Wasn’t happy

Beautiful cabin and area. Pictures and description were spot on. There was plenty of space for my family to spread out and I have 3 teenage boys so that is saying a lot. They enjoyed the lake and kayaks, didn't have any luck fishing but it wasn't for lack of trying. I appreciated the large kitchen with cabinet space for putting groceries away. We loved the quiet, out of town location, but still were able to drive to near by hikes, to the marina for a boat rental, and to NOC for mountain biking. We didn't have any trouble with the driveway, but a smaller car or SUV might. Just be aware. Our Expedition was fine even in the rain. We would love to come back.

Florida Family Fall Getaway

A treasured vacation from start to finish - truly a trip we will never forget. The Nantahala area is beautiful beyond words and the cabin was one of the cleanest and most well-appointed we have ever booked (and we travel to NC a lot!) Do not hesitate on this booking. You will not regret it. Easy to communicate with property manager, days worth of activities nearby (hiking, rafting, fishing, GSMR, GSMNP, boating), we swam, fished and kayaked in the Queens Creek lake. The perfect vacation.

This property provides a great location for peace and quiet, beautiful scenery, and a spotless home to stay in. A true mountain cabin, beautifully decorated, comfortable, view of mountains and the lake. The lake is crystal clear, full of fish, and not crowded with boats and people. Very enjoyable. Wine frig and wine provided, fully stocked kitchen with all the things needed. Owner very responsive to all of our questions. I highly recommend this home.

Fantastic family stay

This home was perfect for our family of 6. It was spacious and secluded. Our boys love to fish and we come the area 1-2x a year and this cabin had everything we needed. Host was very responsive and even dropped off marshmallow sticks when we asked if any were available. Highly recommend!

It was fantastic.

The house was great. Everything was extra clean. The only reason I’m giving a 4 star instead of a 5 star is the driveway. It is a bit steep and long. We had to get speed before entering the driveway to get up it. Also there is a steep ledge in the front yard. If young children aren’t paying attention they could roll off. Honestly, it is the mountains so it isn’t really a big deal. The view is Awesome. I would recommend this to anyone. I especially enjoyed the sounds of nature and no honking horns. Thank you for letting us stay.

A Great Mountain Getaway

Let me start by saying, the pictures do this property justice, from the scenic overlook of the lake to the comfy inside of the cabin. The drive way is pretty steep, but to be expected vacationing in the mountains. The lake is perfect for fishing and kayaking. We paddled down to the end and found a little waterfall. We didn't catch any fish, but they swam close and looked at us a lot, so they're in there! We found the cabin was adequately stocked with everything we needed in the kitchen, living areas and bathrooms. Owners have provided much of what you need from cookware to towels. It was very easy to make ourselves at home. Wifi was not reliable, so we made good use of the fire pit and the games we brought with us. There were some board games there, but we are more of card players. Didn't miss not having tv to watch and phones got decent enough signals to get calls and texts. You can tell the owners want you to have a good time and have made sure to make it as close to home as possible. They were also quick to respond when we had trouble getting in the door (Totally our fault, not theirs lol)

Incredible Stay

This property is spotless and the perfect haven for someone needing a break in the mountains. The property manager was fantastic and even arranged for us to check-in earlier due to a horrible cabin experience we had elsewhere - we were SO THANKFUL they did this. The layout of the home is perfect, kitchen is well-appointed, and it truly is the most well-maintained properties we have stayed out. Wi-Fi was sufficient for movies, and I was very surprised to see a permanent cell booster installed at the home. For sure rebooking this property to escape and stay near family again.

Great stay

Family of three stayed the weekend. We had a great stay. House is as you see online. It is newer cabin. very nice and very clean. You are some distance (30 mins or so) from stores or towns so make sure you have what you need or be willing to drive the mountains. Overall, we had a great trip, we did some fishing (no luck) and just relaxed. The heat was not working (discovered by owner before our arrival) and within 30 minutes of our arrival the owner was over with 3 space heaters and had the fireplace on. QUICKLY, the house was warm and we had no other issue. The kitchen was stocked pretty well definitely had all essentials for a weekend stay. i have two minor things that could be better on this property but even they are extras and by no means detracted from our stay. 1) If you have a larger group staying (over 4-6) you may want to bring extra cooking ware as cooking ware is limited. We had no problems with 2 adults and a 1 year old. 2) a full size coffee pot could be added to this house. It has a one cup kurig but if you drink a good bit of coffee as my family does its just easier to have a 12cup coffee pot. Overall we had a great experience, we loved it and would recommend to any one looking for an ideal mountain getaway away.

Walked into one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed at. All the cookware you need, Wine if you’d care to purchase it. Roomy, well decorated and downright beautiful. 35ish minutes to Nantahala Outdoor Center were there are many awesome activities. Nantahala Village Riding stables aren’t too far for $30/hr wonderful trail rides. Gem mining is near it and there are tons of hiking trails. Bring a coffee pot if you don't use K-cups. The walk down to the small lake isn't far, uphill is a little more difficult if your a bit out of shape and toting a kayak, but expected at a mountain house (I mean how can you live on a mountain and not have hills) the kayak launch is a little tricky, bring water shoes, we couldn’t do it without getting our feet in the water and we originally thought the neighbors launch was theirs, they cleared that up pretty quickly. No luck fishing but we are NOT the best fishermen. The kids and I Kayaked from one end to the other and we did see a few good sized fish. Not sure if I would swim in August as I originally thought it was rain hitting all over the water, it was those bugs that skate on water, all along the shore. However There is a awesome place to swim if you you like hiking over a little bit of rocks in streams ( we love it) drive down the mountain and there is a dirt road on the left that goes over a bridge, the right side has an amazing waterfall and swim hole over your head! Shhh Im sure not many tourists know. We drove an hour to go to bust your butt falls. This was 10 min and you can swim.! Had smores and a wonderful night sky. If you require an internet that doesn’t keep shutting freezing your movie for school/work it might not be the best. We even made everyone disconnect from the wifi. We decided to play a board game, they have a few and some DVDs as well. Hot tub was nice too!

Pleasant cabin on a small quiet lake

This new cabin sits high on a hill overlooking a small lake in the Southern Highlands of North Carolina. The location was perfect for a quiet retreat. The cabin is new, very clean and well appointed. The quiet of the place was much appreciated and one can see all the stars here on a clear night. Several trail heads and access points for rafting are located within a short drive. We would definitely stay there again.
