Excellent service, by a great team everyone is really welcoming. The hotel is a period property, and is due a bit of a refresh. The location of the hotel is excellent for river trips, exploring Fore st and buses to the local area. Very pet friendly!

We enjoyed our stay in Totnes - a lovely and interesting small town with plenty to do. The hotel is an older building and in many places could do with a little investment in the rooms. Staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Hotel was old and quirky and would rate 8 and a half out of 10. We only stayed a short while, so did not take advantage of amenities, but breakfast was good. I am comparing it to its sister hotel in Dartmouth which has recently been renovated, so ranked it a bit lower. As for the price, it was a great value.

Good points :- Location, helpful staff, clean an & comfortable rooms and dining facilities, good food. Bad points :- Car park far too small - can be a real problem finding a space and parking. No lift to upper floors and therefore access challenging for some senior citizens and a no-go for the disabled.

Beware, there is no elevator. Parking is nonexistent, and I had to park on the street, but at least it was free after 6 pm and since it was Saturday/sunday, it was free. There was a problem with the boiler, and there was no hot water, but we worked around that. The hotel itself was built in the 1600 s and so was quaint and beautiful. Food was great, service was great, and the coffee perfect.
