He readied the house in a few hours for an early check in and even met us in the town piazza to guide us directly to the house. He was an excellent, responsive host. Perched on a cliff with priceless 360 degree views of the Mediterranean, views of Sicily, Stromboli island and the lush hills to the east it is a magical spot indeed. Looking down from the no less than four terraces one can see the multiple hues of the water below as well as the private beach. It is a rustic house for sure but that is a part of the appeal. "The property was incredibly beautiful - views, rooms, decor, amenities. The food was also amazing. But the best part of the stay was the amazing staff - especially Camilla. Unfortunately we had a medical emergency while we were there and she spoke to local hospitals to ensure we were seen and helped properly. I have never had a hotel care so much about me and my husband and we travel most weeks of the year for work and for pleasure. What an incredible experience all around. Camilla and the hotel will have a special place in our hearts forever and we can’t wait to come back with more family and friends. "

"This is a lovely property. Our air conditioner did not work and they moved us to an upgraded room for the last 2 nights. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. Our room was clean and the view was beautiful of the sea, though further away than we thought. A few cons. There is no beach access here at all.Some of the descriptions are misleading. You cannot walk into town or to the beach on the very busy roads, it’s a long walk and dangerous. We were able to Uber back and forth without any issues. There is no spa but the pool is beautiful. The service at the pool is understaffed. Were were there in mid May off season. We were told they were open from 11-7 but when we asked for service for coffee at 12:15p we were told they didn’t open until 12:30 and no one came until 12:45p. One night we didn’t feel well and wanted to order in but no one could help us with that. We We found an app and ordered only for it to be cancelled after 25 minutes. There is no one at the reception desk available after 9 pm. I would hope in the future to see a little more available in the reception area like snacks and coffee. A shuttle to and from town/beach would also be appreciated. There is a lot of potential for this property and Tropea is stunning and still untouched by Americans (which we are) and annoying crowds so go now if you can. "

"The food was a wonderful surprise. Location without a car made it challenging with poor weather for walkers to get up to the village. As far as the room it was clean and simple. Giovanni was most attentive in the restaurant, but Paola was unbelievable. We watched his attentiveness with great admiration. Really made the restaurant feel special which in turn translated to the patrons. "
