Enjoy the peaceful mountain getaway you’ve been dreaming of in this luxury resort home! Amenities include an in-home private movie theater, hot tub, pool table, and two wood burning fireplaces (one inside and one outside). We also have a whole house generator wired to kick on automatically in the event of a power outage, so you’ll never be left in the dark. It can happen quite often in the mountains.

The Bear Lake Reserve community offers two outdoor pools, a water slide, two hot tubs, beach, boat rentals, hiking trails, tennis courts, and a Nicklaus designed golf course. There is also a full service restaurant and bar on site, at the Lake Club.

Mountain views are seasonal. During the spring and summer, you’ll feel like you're staying high up in a tree house surrounded by green and all the privacy you could ask for. Mountains are visible in fall and winter.

This kid friendly home is packed full of board games, puzzles, toys, books, a video baby monitor, Pack n Play, and high chair for use during your stay. All bathrooms are also equipped with child toilet seats and step stools. Up to 2 dogs are welcome with an additional cleaning fee.

Bunk bed featuring two twin mattresses is located in the downstairs common area, along with the movie screen, theater chairs and pool table.

🌱Organic Everything🌱
Trade the toxins of your everyday life for pure mountain air inside and outside of this home. All mattresses, linens and towels are provided and organic. You’ll find Molekule air purifiers, dishes that are locally made by a potter in Asheville, and a living room couch manufactured in NC. Nothing made in China.

Venture out to the nearby towns of Sylva, Dillsboro, Cashiers or Waynesville for great restaurants and craft breweries. Or, head up to Bryson City for a scenic ride on a vintage steam train! The closest ski resorts are Sapphire and Cataloochee.

Second time staying here and we loved it just as much as the first. Kelly is great to communicate with and her house is beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped to just stay there and relax. We had 3 adults, 3 children ages 8-11, and our two dogs. We had plenty of space. My wife loved reading by the fireplace and the kids loved playing downstairs. We took advantage of some hiking trails near by the house and visited the club house for the kids to go swimming (the outdoor pool is heated) and kayaking. Finally saw a black bear one evening driving back to the house right in the middle of the road. What a sight! Glad we were in a car :) Highly recommend staying here and already want to return again.

This house was absolutely beautiful! It was very well appointed and perfect for our family of four and our pup! They even had doggie bowls ready for us! We especially loved the hot tub. My husband and boys enjoyed watching weekend football on the big screen in the movie room. We enjoyed golfing, hiking, and a boat ride on the lake. We will be back to this home!

Property just as described! Very Clean and well stocked/furnished (especially with little ones). Easy and timely communication with owner. Fantastic amenities within community, but it is remote with no cell service. Internet worked fine the entire stay. Bring all groceries needed for your stay. Closest grocery store is 40ish mins away. Roads are narrow and winding but worth it for the views! Would return for an another family weekend getaway. If you’re looking for a place to unplug - this is it!

Absolutely everything we expected and more!!The house was perfect for our family and with it only being four of us, we had lots of room to spare. My daughters were obsessed with the movie theater and I was in heaven in the hot tub on the back deck. The location is great too! Not a far drive from the Lake Club and the pickle ball courts, plus we were able to walk to the park! We took advantage of ALL of the amenities like taking a guided hike, the sunset cruise, renting kayaks and paddle boards, etc. We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation and we will absolutely be back!!

Beautiful home & area

The house was fantastic! It was beautifully decorated, cozy, well equipped, and clean. The theater room was a big hit with the kids! Bear Lake Reserve was nice as well. We did some exploring of the area near Sylva/Disllsboro & Highlands. Tubing on the Tuckasegee was a blast and Quarry Falls was fun as well. Great family trip!!

Great location in a wonderful mountain community!

This was our second time visiting BLR. The first time we stayed near the Greeter's Cottage (ie: the entrance to the community) but the drive to the Lake Club was a long and windy 20min. This time we decided to stay closer to the Clubhouse, and Kelly's home is only about 5min away. It was great for easy access with our 3 young kids! We got lots of time at the beach/pool, and they loved the Bear Creek Park (which is walking distance from the home). They have a blast playing in the creek! Kelly's home was full of fun amenities like the movie theatre setup, bunk bed slid, board games, and hot tub! The kitchen was well stocked and everything was comfortable. We would stay again!

Spectacular Location Surrounded by a Canopy of Trees

Our family of four plus our son's girlfriend (Ages 23-26) thoroughly enjoyed staying at Kelly's mountain house. The house had everything we needed to have a fun-filled vacation! The screened-in porch out back was optimal for coffee, cocktails, and smores! The downstairs pool table, movie theater, and hot tub were also a major hit! We loved that we could spread out and come together for meals. I prepared many meals in advance because the home is far from supermarkets and restaurants (except for the Lake Club). We took advantage and thoroughly enjoyed the Lake Club dining, swimming pool, gym, lake beach, and gorgeous views. We rented a boat and hiked up to a magnificent waterfall, took out paddle boards, and did the stunning sunset cruise. We also golfed on the amazing course surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. The air was so crisp and delightful coming from Florida. While the roads were winding and unfortunately the Lake Club restaurant services with disappointingly slow, we loved our vacation and have fallen in love with the area. Kelly, our host was very responsive and we are grateful. Thank you!

Lots of fun! Family friendly stay

Very clean and as described. The host has made home very kid friendly- step stools for sinks, markers and coloring books, little inserts for small bottoms on toilets etc! Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans. Hot tub in great shape. Bear lake reserve also was great and added to our experience. The public pool is beautiful. Beach wasnt busy and is lovely. We used the marina for a boat reservation and reserved pickle ball, hiked the trails, and did their family smore night. Really a wonderful time. Host responsive. Just FYI there is no grill. Not a complaint just fyi for folks as one pic lookslike there is. Would stay again without hesitation!

Beware of Bears

It should be noted that it takes about 20 minutes of very winding hairpin turns to get to the property after passing through the gatehouse. Make sure you have all the supplies and groceries needed before headed up because getting in and out takes a while. The house is well stocked-though there is not a traditional coffee pot. As mentioned, the WiFi is very spotty and pretty unreliable. Luckily we did not need it much, but my husband did need to jump on the computer for a few work related issues here and there. We found the restaurant was very understaffed and the food pretty subpar for the cost. It took over 2 hours for lunch that consisted of what was essentially frozen fish sticks on a bun. The major dissatisfier was that our vehicle was broken into by a bear and caused significant damage while parked in the driveway of the property. We did not have trash or food in the vehicle and all windows were up, however, we failed to lock the doors. When we notified the BLR staff we were informed that the same thing happened to another family earlier this summer. The property owner was overall responsive and friendly, but unfortunately did not have the front outdoor cameras set to capture animal activity. As we are unfamiliar with bear activity, it would have been nice to know that this was a potential risk beforehand as we would have certainly been more cognizant of locking the vehicle doors. Hopefully this will serve as a reminder for anyone considering this location.

Perfect house!

The house was perfect for our summer vacation with family. It was so kid friendly with lots of little extras that were helpful (step stools, high chair, hooded towels, games and toys, etc). We really enjoyed the house and got immediate responses from the owner when needed.

Mountain Getaway

Absolutley loved Kelly's cabin. Kelly has thought of everything!!! The cabin was very clean and beautifully decorated. I felt at home! The movie theater was a big hit with young and old. Mountain Escape

We enjoyed our month-long stay in this house! The owner is very responsive and friendly nformative. The house is very clean, well decorated and has plenty of space. The kitchen is very well stocked and the community is wonderful! We enjoyed the club house bar and restaurant, played golf and pickleball and went on many hikes. Truly a great escape!

Absolutely Beautiful!

This home is absolutely beautiful and includes everything you need for a wonderful stay.! We booked our stay for our son’s wedding at Castle LadyHawke so we had a very busy schedule and it was great to have such a comfortable place to unwind each evening. Great getaway!

Super clean and comfortable place for a weekend away with family! Kelly was amazing with communication and any questions we had while staying! We did have a few issues with WiFi/cell connectivity, but nothing atypical for being in the mountains. The amenities of Bear Lake Reserve were fantastic: pools, boat rental, paddle boards, tennis courts. We will be back!

Summer Vacation

The house is nice, bedding was comfortable. No issues with power and/or water. WIFI is not the best if you are operating more than a few devices, definitely no cell service. The club house is very nice, 2 pools, bar/grill pool side, a sports bar and restaurant. Marina just down from club house / pool with boats, canoes, kayaks available for rent reasonably priced. Note the drive to the house, and from the house to club house and back is not for anyone with vertigo(182 curves) from main road to house, just a little over 5 miles.

Awesome stay

Our family of 9, ranging in age from 6 to 50 had an awesome week in Kelly’s home. The house had a lot of extras that made our time there even more enjoyable, from the hot tub, pool table, porch swing to the home theater - there was something for everyone. Kelly was quick to respond to any questions that came up and kept us informed of the various activities at the lake club during our stay. This is definitely one of the best maintained and well equipped homes I have experienced using VRBO and we would gladly return.

Kelly was a wonderful host and her house is fantastic! I stayed her with my husband, 4 kids and our dog and we all had a great time. It rained a bunch but there’s so much to do in the house- the movie theater, hot tub (which is covered by the upstairs deck and was awesome in the rain), tons of kids games and puzzles, and the treehouse bunk beds that my kids played in a bunch. The kitchen is probably the best stocked kitchen I’ve stayed in- every kind of cookware and utensil you might need. And the handmade plates, bowls and mugs are really beautiful. All the amenities at the Lake Club were wonderful too! We’ll definitely be back!
