A beautiful spot!
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Going around thanksgiving meant it was cozy in the cabin and the leaves were changing outside. Bill and Christine were wonderful hosts who were there to greet us and responsive if we needed them, but otherwise gave us space and privacy. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we could need for cooking (and the knives were sharp!) It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog with us, and there were beautiful places to walk with him. We loved our time there and have recommended it to many people already!

Cozy Cottage Getaway
Kanata Beach Cottage - Cozy Getaway July/Aug 2023 Our family had a wonderful stay at the Kanata Beach cottage. The cottage was lovely, quaint and well maintained. Exactly what we needed for our week away. Our dog Leo had a fabulous time in the water, plenty of property to play on. We lacked for nothing, and although skeptical of the outdoor shower at first ;) Just happened to be the best showers over looking the lake morning and dusk. We would like to thank our hosts Bill and Christine, they were wonderful. Jan, Brandi, Jacob, and Leo.

Cozy Hideaway!
Firstly, we want to sincerely thank Bill for his wonderful hospitality. It was a pleasure to meet him and it made for an even more enjoyable stay! Our stay at the cottage was very nice. The cottage is quite small but spotless, very comfortable and super relaxing! Our week was met with unsettled, wet weather conditions with a couple of beautiful days, and the cabin was very comfortable when we had to stay indoors. The view from the cabin is beautiful and with our screen house, we were able to sit on the patio bug free and watch the sunset. The property is very well kept with cut grass and lots of room for outdoor games. The cabin itself does not have hot water, so you use bottled water for cleaning dishes or boil the lake water first. Bit of a hassle but you adapt quickly. There is a large water cooler with bottled water supplied which is a great touch. All in all we really enjoyed the cabin, and although we were unable to use our own boat (mechanical issue) it didn’t take away from enjoying a very nice comfortable, relaxing week away in a great little hideaway. The outdoor shower is quite unique and wonderfully refreshing.

The cleanliness of the cottage was impressive. I loved the rustic decor inside the cottage and all the artistic quilts on the walls. The waterfront view was spectacular and we enjoyed the kayaking which was so accessible!

Lovely quiet, beautiful place & well provisioned cottage with everything we needed. Every day we walked dog, took dog in either row boat or paddle boat, kayaked & swam. Little slice of paradise
We had a fantastic stay at Kanata Beach Cottage! We brought our 2 year old daughter and our dog, everyone had the best time. From going out on the water in the boats, walking the trails, building a fire in the evenings and just getting to sit back and relax while looking at the incredible view. The cottage itself is very clean and well organized and everything important is laid out and labeled. This was a perfect getaway for our little family, we will most definitely be back!

Delightful
The property was well maintained, and kept very clean. I liked how it was organized, and some things were labeled like light switches whichs saves time n flickering of a bunch of lights trying to figure out the one you want. There was lots to do, board games, paddle boat, kayaks, and outdoor games. It was nice to sit outside with a small fire while looking out onto the lake. The area was very quiet, the neighbor in the next door cottage was quiet and friendly. Over all it was a great stay, I'm sure i missed more positive things to say about the place

Cozy Cabin
Perfect spot for a fall getaway. Wake up to the morning mist on the lake and the heron fishing off the dock. The lake was quiet during the week and perfect for an afternoon paddle. Nice walk into town along the recreation trail. Lots of bone dry firewood for the woodstove and outdoor fireplace kept us very comfortable. Would definitely go back!!

A Beautiful Escape
We had a blast at the Kanata beach cottage. The cottage had everything you needed and beautiful views of the lake. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. They greeted us at check in and even left thoughtful gifts of snacks and beverages with a nice note welcoming us. Such nice trails right by the cottage. The owners are lovely to talk to and have the sweetest dog too. We will be back in the future.

Pet-friendly Lovely Last Minute Getaway
We found this property one week before going and it is exactly as listed. Very clean, well stocked and labeled one bedroom cabin. Bill kindly gave us a tour around and left yummy surprises for us all, including our dog. We enjoyed the great leash free walking trail and our dog had his first boat ride in the row boat. There was a lovely patio by the BBQ with a wonderful lake view. Even eating breakfast looking out at the misty lake was peaceful. Thank you VRBO for the ease of booking and Christine and Bill for the care you put into our getaway.

The location and design of the cottage was very good. I especially liked that it was clean because we don't step into the house with shoes :) and my cats also loved this place. Amazing Stay!
Had a lovely time at this cottage. Bill is a great host and the cottage was perfect for the two of us. Comes with everything you’d need. We were able to paddle boat out and anchor off for a swim. Chimnea was lovely, lots of s’mores and the BBQ worked great. Overall amazing time!

Keeping it simple getaway
Lovely cottage, clean and cozy. Hot water available for outside shower, which was appreciated! Nights with a fire, and during the day, were able to go out to fish, and our puppy learned to swim from the beach. Quiet times enjoyed, playing social games and reconnecting. Definitely recommend!

The hosts were very welcoming ( in a non- intrusive manner). Cold beverages with a welcome note in the fridge was a nice surprise and the dog enjoyed the dog biscuit left out for him. The private setting on the lakefront was a lovely view from the patio and from inside the cottage. The cottage was a perfect size for myself and my husband and my dog. An amazing cottage getaway
My partner and I rented Kanata cottage for a week and it was perfect. Bill and Christine are friendly and attentive, thoughtful with little treats and proactive with items that we went through quickly. We love how close Tweed is, the old school bakery in town was delicious and we walked the TransCanada Trail more than once. We appreciated how they welcomed our dog and offered games, books and boats/kayaks to use on the water. We hope to visit again, thank you Bill & Christine.

A gem of a cottage
This is a lovely small gem of a cottage. It's suitable for a couple with space for aone or two friends or kids. Tastefully decorated with beautiful quilts and white and gray paint. Both the queen sized bed and fold out couch were comfortable to sleep on. All of the equipment (outside shower, propane stove and BBQ) were easy to use. This cottage has been very thoughtfully set up. It's also easy to keep clean. The owner communicates instantly. We really appreciated that he checked back with us a couple of times after we were in to make sure we were ok. How thoughtful! Check in was easy and the instructions for getting to the cottage were clear. We loved the peace and quiet and the beautiful view of the lake. There are lots of things to do: inside books and games, outside a paddle boat, row boat and kayaks. Some safety equipment provided. We brought our own PFD for the child who came with us but there were adult ones provided as well. Nearby Tweed has everything you might need in the way of groceries, restaurants, etc. Check out the tiny jail! Our longer trips were to the Petroglyphs Park (worth the drive) and to Ottawa (very long drive) on a rainy day. Did we mention Tweedy's for ice cream? Loved the outdoor hot shower! So this was the perfect place to unwind and potter about. We have more things to do next time we come (the nearby winery, the TransCanada Trail, more pottering). And there will be a next time - we will be back.

A beautiful getaway from the city
The pictures don’t do this sweet little cottage justice! A wonderful feeling of home and comfort as soon as we arrived. Bill and Christine were amazing hosts, starting our trip off with a lovely alcoholic beverage in the fridge. Beautiful view of the lake and great amenities like kayaks and paddle boat to make use of it. The patio was also very nice, enjoying our morning coffee watching and listening to the loons on the lake. So serene and relaxing, a hidden gem! It was nice to step away from the busy world and connect. A very big thank you our hosts and all they did for us!

Bill and Christine went over and beyond to make sure our experience was enjoyable! The water view property exceeded our expectations. The view was beautiful, inside the cottage itself was very welcoming and decorated with gorgeous embroidered guilts, also stocked with kitchen items, towels, games and books. Bill and Christine also provided firewood and checked in with us during our stay, making sure we had enough. The outdoor shower was peaceful looking at the stars in the night sky. The boats and outdoor games were available for us to use at anytime. Bill and Christine were great hosts and made us feel welcomed during our stay.

Can’t say enough about Bill as a property host. The property is exactly what is described and shown in photos. The owners left lovely notes, direction, a cold beverage or two in the fridge, and we were allowed to bring our dog and felt so welcomed. Just a perfect weekend getaway!
Bill and Christine were amazing hosts and the cottage was perfect! It was impeccably clean, and had everything we needed (kitchen utensils, heater, AC,etc) + more! Bill provided us with items that we usually bring (ex: firewood, shampoo/conditioner for the shower, towels) so if we had forgotten, everything was covered! My partner and I stayed there for the weekend with our pup and had an amazing time. The house is right by the lake so we took out the kayaks, canoe, and even went for a dip! The place is very peaceful and quiet, no cars driving around, and just perfectly relaxing. There is no tv inside, so be prepare to be present with your loved ones and enjoy each other! We read, listened to music, and even played some board games (from the house). 11/10! We are definitely coming back!

Relax and Rejuvenate with Wildlife Sightings
This was our second visit to this cozy cottage set in a natural environment and shoreline. Our timing was perfect to observe both Snapping and Eastern Musk Turtles nesting on the property.We had a beaver come ashore briefly one evening. Improvements were made with a Gazebo with a screen room on the patio and an air conditioner. Bill regularly checked in and brought us more firewood for both the wood stove and the outdoor fireplace. Once again we were made to feel at home.

Our First VRBO Experience
It was a perfect cottage experience nestled amongst the trees and on a waterfront property. Our hosts Bill and Christine were warm and welcoming. A cozy wood stove warms up the chilly mornings. This cute little cottage is adorned with handcrafted quilting made by Christine. We appreciated it being dog friendly. We would definitely come back here again.
