Included everything you’ll need for a stay. Had multiple kitchen appliances. Wish they had a dnd sign for the cleaning crew. They only touched the bed and replaced towels and such, but i usually prefer cleaning after we check out of the hotel. Other than that, the stay was quite nice.

We had an appointment early the next day, at UBC hospital, this seemed like the logical choice. An extra $20 for parking on top of a fairly significant charge for the room, was disappointing. We aren’t from the lower mainland and paid parking isn’t in our wheelhouse. No dedicated lot, just on street parking. We were able to find parking 5 minutes away. The room itself was bijou, well appointed, and had everything you could hope for, for a night or a week…. Except for a table and chairs. The room is pretty compact, no room for one. As an option there is a small sideboard/desk under the television that could be pressed into service as an eating counter. Served our needs well, and was comfortable for one night.

The bed was super comfortable. Stayed here for surgery in UBC hospital but they don’t give a discount at all for your stay, disappointing! But super convenient to get to hospital no guessing on time line fir getting to admitting time. Super clean and quiet. You got to one place to book in and then cross a 1 way road to the gage wince you catch on its easy. I would absolutely stay again.

I have stayed at Gage Suites on a number of occasions in the past couple of years. I’ve found that the service was excellent on all occasions. The recently completed building is bright, clean and well-kept. The beds are exceptionally comfortable and the other facilities are beyond all expectations. Consider this — the kitchenette includes a refrigerator and freezer, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher(!), sink and ample counters and cupboards. What more could you want? There’s a desk with outlets for computers and other items you might be carrying and there are cupboards and drawers for your clothes. Also worth mentioning — on the main floor, there’s a lounge area and there are washers and dryers in a separate room nearby. Some visitors might find a couple of drawbacks. Devotees of old-style network television will be disappointed by the lack of choice. On the other hand, fans of streaming services will likely find everything they could want. I haven’t been happy with recent changes in parking policies, but that’s a minor detail.

UBC is always beautiful. The information on the room does not mention the cost of the paid parking. The surfaces in the room were very dusty, there was sugar? spilt all over the stove and a huge clump of hair behind the entrance door.

There is so much construction around the hotel, very difficult to get around. You check in at one building, then stay in another building? There was an old coffee pod in the coffee maker & some of the utensils in the drawer where dirty.

I was pleasantly surprised by the stay here. The staff was very helpful and location is perfect if you have a child staying in Residence on campus. I had been worried about the parking, but the parking system could not be better with outdoor parking immediately by the entrance to the Suites. The suites were exceptionally clean, and while somewhat small in relation to typical hotels, laid out very cleverly with a very good kitchen. Will stay here every time I visit my daughter.

This is not a hotel - it's a college residence
Let me preface this by saying I stay in 100 rooms a year or more. I've never experienced this level of both incompetence and rudeness (and they were consistently rude to my colleagues). It took half an hour to book in. And if you think that's an aberration, on the next day we had colleagues that took half an hour. The whole process was appalling, they clearly have no training, are incredibly rude and just clueless about someone staying at a property. It was noisy, but according to staff 'no noise', construction at 8am, and the place is basically a dorm. You're checking in next to students checking into student accommodation, because it's... basically student accommodation. They insisted on misgendering me and my colleagues when they were corrected twice on the first day and three times on the second. Just... get real staff. They also didn't allow me to pay for other rooms on my corporate card. Which is standard. Again, they have no clue. I fully expect to get double charged, they are that incompetent. The place is freezing. I assume they opened this year and it hasn't been cold since. So I asked for an extra blanket... it's thin. Really thin. They set the temp at 22, which would be fine (of course, it's totally about saving money) if it also blew air out, it doesn't. They couldn't make this place a cheaper experience if they tried. Except we paid 280 Canadian a night each. The whole thing was just a nightmare from beginning to... well sadly we're here for another night.

We do share a front desk with student housing, but our hotel staff operate separately from student housing staff, and our hotel is a full-time hotel and not student housing. Again, we are very sorry that you had a negative experience staying with us. Great to stay if needing to do things around UBC area. Clean and safe. Easy access and transportation. Minimal food options in area and not really a hotel with services or concierge. Nice kitchenette room that you manage your stay yourself.
