College friend reunion
Our stay at Haddon House was nothing short of perfect! From the personal greeting and tour by our host to the extra touches of elegance in the home, we felt comfortable immediately. Additionally, the stocked pantry, the first breakfast supplies, and chocolates was beyond our expectations. We had a wonderful, relaxing time in Vancouver and at felt right at home in Haddon House!!

Historic Gem near all the great Vancouver sites
We stayed for three days in January 2024, with our friends from Australia. The place was immaculate, very comfortable, had a full array of breakfast items that we couldn’t begin to use up! The beds were very comfortable, and both couples were able to have en suite bathrooms, which is rare in a VRBO. we cannot say enough about our host Johannes, he definitely was one of the highlights of staying there! Would love to return and stay there again in a different time of year, partly to see more of the Vancouver area, and partly just to visit more with Johannes and his lovely wife. We live in Southwest Washington state, so it’s not that far to drive over the border into Canada to explore more of what the Vancouver area has to offer. This VRBO is a perfect location for all of the exciting things to do in the downtown Vancouver area as well as surrounding areas. Definitely recommend this beautiful older home, especially the cozy family room area with the gas fireplace, just off the kitchen. One final note, the Lindor chocolates were to die for, and we ate the entire bowl while we were there!

EXCEPTIONAL VACATION HOME
Haddon House was amazing!! We stayed there for a family girls weekend celebrating my sister's 50th birthday....we couldn't of chosen a better place, everything was perfect! Marie-Louise & Johannes were wonderful hosts! We so appreciated to be accommodated for early check-in and received such a friendly welcome and tour from Johannes:) Their home was immaculate, beautifully appointed and had everything you could need or want for your stay. My Mom is a very tidy person and she couldn't get over how clean it was! It truly felt like a home away from home! It was wonderful to arrive and have the fridge and pantry stocked with a very generous supply of groceries. From the property to the home and amenities, everything was first class and made for a very memorable vacation experience!!

Everything was perfect! Four of us stayed at the Haddon House and we all were very comfortable. The neighborhood is lovely and there is a nice lake nearby to go walking. Our hosts were lovely. I’d highly recommend this house.

Felt like home
The Haddon House was a great place for our larger group. It was detailed very well and it was so inviting that it felt like home. The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond. They accommodated our late check in were always available if we had questions. I would highly recommend the Haddon House to everyone.

Perfect!
This beautiful home was the perfect place for a group of old friends to gather for a week. The home is lovely inside and out and very comfortable. Owners provided all the amenities we could possibly need. Speaking of the owners, they were available whenever we needed them and so welcoming. The neighborhood is lovely as well. It was a very short walk to Deer Lake - walking trails, water lilies and high rises in the distance. We can't recommend Haddon House more highly!

Beautiful Home and Location
Haddon House is a stunning property. Beautifully maintained, comfortable, and spacious with a lovely deck, fountain, and gazebo in the back for dining and hanging outside! The piano was the main attraction for my family group (4 siblings and their wives/husbands) who are almost all musicians. We'd gather around the piano in the evening, adding the guitars and other instruments we brought, singing our favorite songs and generally having a great time. The location for touring around Vancouver was perfect, close enough for driving into Vancouver, but outside of any noisy areas in a beautiful neighborhood. There is a lovely park nearby with a lake and other attractions. With 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths on the 2nd floor, we were all comfortable (well... one bedroom has a futon and I'm not sure that was the most comfortable bed!) The house has a well-stocked kitchen, and the hosts provided a generous supply of breakfast items, so we didn't have to run out to shop as soon as we arrived. We ordered some dinners for delivery, but various couples in the group cooked several times. I highly recommend the property. Thank you, Haddon House and hosts! Donna

Daughter's Wedding Dream
We could not have imagined or designed a more perfect home to host our family as we prepared for our daughter's out of town wedding! The heritage home is set on beautiful grounds, tastefully decorated inside, spacious and comfortable. It was a joy to share meals together and host the bridal party. It truly felt like we were in our own home, hanging out with our family and friends and just relaxing together. The location was perfect. A 20 minute drive to all the places we needed to go - venue, rehearsal restaurant etc. I especially appreciated not having to drive back to our home, an hour against traffic, to go to bed every night. Johann and Marie-Louise are thoughtful hosts, organized and prepared. They were there when we needed them but always mindful of our privacy. I can honestly say that staying in their home was the perfect backdrop to our special occasion.

Excellent property, superb hosts and a great family holiday
We stayed in Haddon House for a family Christmas and New Year. This is a beautiful heritage house situated in Burnaby. Our hosts were exceptionally helpful and friendly and made our stay extremely comfortable. The house has everything you could wish for and there was lots of space for the 5 of us. It really felt like a home from home. As other guests have mentioned the Fridge was well stocked and we were provided with fresh fruit, breakfast, honey, tea, coffee, etc to make our settling in very easy. There is a large supermarket within 5 minutes drive from the house. The information provided by our hosts in relation to shopping, dining and attractions was very helpful. There is an excellent Pizza takeaway nearby and some fine dining at Hart House restaurant, a short walk from the house. Deer Park Lake is a beautiful lake within walking distance of the house. There are some beautiful walks around the lake and it is also possible to hire boats during the summer. We had a wonderful family Christmas and New Year at Haddon House and this was due in large part to both the wonderful heritage house and our very welcoming and friendly Hosts Johannes and Marie Louise.

Exceptional home!
From the day we checked in, everything about Haddon House was amazing. The owners were meticulous, not only in cleanliness, but instructions as well. We received a tour of the spaces, and every single area of the home was clearly labeled with incredible attention to detail. Our fridge was even stocked with essentials to get us through our first night. It is clear that the owners take pride in their home, and in creating a comfortable experience for guests. Close to major arteries, it was also the perfect location between Vancouver and other areas. We will definitely be staying here again!

Fantastic House
This house if wonderful. It is a fabulous property - very spacious. There was lots of room for our family. We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. There is a yard where my grandson could run around. The property manager was terrific and very helpful. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely book it again for my family.

Best Place Ever
Seven adults stayed for three nights to attend our son's wedding. From our initial meeting with Johannes we were treat as his most special guests. We had a very good orientation to the home and all the amenities available. His fridge was stocked with food and drink and we were encouraged to just enjoy ourselves. He allowed us to have eleven people over for a pre meeting dinner which made it so easy to get to meet and enjoy our new inlaws. The rooms were very very nice in terms of space for all, the well equipped and fresh bedrooms. Just a fine place to relax and enjoy our time. I would stay again without hesitation and look forward to the next time we can stay longer.

Amazing hosts, and amazing property.
The owners and property made us feel welcome . They went the extra mile to help us book for over three days as VRBO had issues. These owners stuck with us until it was sorted. It even cost them 2 days of revenue because of the VRBO mishap. If you have a chance to stay here, please do. It is amazing.

Luxury quarantine @ Haddon House
Johannes and Marie-Louise were fantastic hosts, though we could have done without the incessant refreshing of the Lindt chocolates in the large bowl in the front hallway - simply too tempting. This was an extremely comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable quarantine for our family, and we apologize for treading around the house 100's of times per day in order to stay fit and work off said chocolates. The house was perfectly fitted, the kitchen was well-stocked and appliances top-end; the new family room with the fireplace was cosy and the beds were dreamy. I was working from home and enjoyed having my own office. But, as with most part-time rentals, the hosts really make the difference and Johannes, Marie-Louise and their two playful labs were the perfect hosts.

Majestic heritage home
This home was everything as advertised and more. The property managers lived in the lower level and were attentive to every need without being intrusive. They provided ample supplies for a couple breakfasts for 8 of us and ample coffee and teas for the duration of our stay. 2 of the 4 beadrooms had ensuite bathrooms and a third in the hall. All bedrooms had cable tv but I would have liked one on the main floor since I'm an early riser. The neighborhood was beautiful and just a short walk from Deer lake and close to major highways if you need to get around.

Girls Getaway
Haddon House, Johannes & Marie Louise, set the bar high for any place I'll stay from now on! The ease of booking, helpfulness and quick response times were just the start. Once we arrived, we had a very much appreciated tour. The home is stunning, attention to every detail is evident, including a stocked fridge and pantry. Comfortable, beautiful bedrooms for all 4 of us, and the home was sparkling clean and just lovely. As knitters, we appreciated the wonderful, natural lit rooms during the day, and lots of light at night. Beautiful grounds and nice, quiet neighborhood. It was the perfect location for our needs. Thank you for sharing your home with us! You had us with the bowl of Lindt Balls! :)

We had a wonderful stay in this fantastic house. From Johannes excellent welcome to the minute we left we could not have asked for more. Reunion in Vancouver
We could not have found a better home to host our family reunion and graduation celebration. Beautiful, extremely well organized and clean, and with ample space for your group of eight, the home is in a quiet neighborhood, and close to a lovely park. Pantry and kitchen were well supplied so we managed many meals at home. Everything about it was wonderful.

Simply awesome place with an equally awesome host.
Beautiful, clean, very well and thought out supplies provided by the host. Very warm and caring welcome provided by the host. Follow through by host during our stay. And hosts also sent us home with wonderful book on British Columbia. House is well kept and equipped. We were 2 families, each 4, amd had very comfortable stay. In short, we will definitely look to rebook this place next time. Our humble thanks to hosts for making this a memorable trip.

Fabulous House
The house is beautiful and easy to get to. We traveled from California for a family event with all ages and it was the perfect accommodation. Plenty of parking, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, lots of room for 7 adults. Easy to get into Vancouver for sight seeing, close to grocery, restaurants, shopping mall and freeways if you're staying in Burnaby. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Would highly recommend it.

Fantastic location and great property!
The owners, Marie-Louise and Johann are very hospitable. The house is really comfortable​, spacious and is great for 6 to 8 people. It's well equipped and the owners included enough food for 1 huge breakfast or 2 breakfasts​. I recommend this property.

Wonderful stay with our kids.
We had a wonderful stay in Haddon House. There were 4 adults and 2 young children, and the place was more than spacious. Marie-Louise and Johannes were great hosts. The house was very well stocked and they provided us with days worth of fresh organic fruit, yogurt, bread, eggs, etc. We would go on our excursions in the mornings (Granville Island, Stanley park, Science Museum and Capilano Suspension bridge were all 30 minutes away in usual traffic). After my younger son's afternoon nap during which my older son would play in the front or back yard, we would walk over to Deer Lake and play in the playground or go paddle boating. The grand parents enjoyed walking along the trail looking for beavers and especially conversing with the hosts. We would come home and enjoy our dinner sitting out on their patio enjoying their well kept garden. It was a perfect place for a family with young children. Thank you.

The owners where accomodating, and available for any needs. They made our vacation so pleasurable. The property is just fantastic! Prestine grounds it Made our vacation that much better! I highly recommend it. It's not the far to Vancouver downtown. I can't wait to go back!

We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your vacation so much. We have to admit that our 'pristine grounds' are not due alone to our own efforts but an excellent gardener (he's Dutch - and as you may know, the Dutch seem to have landscaping in their blood!) who tends to our property with pride of workmanship. We do hope we'll see you again at Haddon House some time in the future.

Absolutely perfect!
Haddon House was even more than expected, if that's possible! Marie-Louise and Johannes were the most gracious hosts. Upon arrival it was clear that they have thought of everything to make the transition from normal daily life in Michigan to a week of Vancouver vacation life as simple as possible. A clean, beautiful home with wonderful owners who had information ready: from everywhere one may need to go in the area to traveling directions to sightseeing attractions, brochures for ideas and even coupons to use if you chose to use them, and basic food staples stocked in the kitchen. The residential area means much welcomed nighttime quietness. A 5 minute walk to Deer Lake and the Burnaby Village Museum (both free of charge) made the location perfect for times when we wanted a break from the city life of Vancouver. Haddon House accommodated all 8 of us, including our 2 young grandchildren, perfectly. We would recommend this home to anyone thinking of visiting Vancouver anytime. Cannot say enough good things about it. Wish we were back there all ready! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to be able to spend more time with our kind and caring hosts.
