Pan Pacific definitely has a 1980s vibe, from the soaring atrium to it's neo modernist architecture the only thing it's missing are glass elevators. Having said that it has the best location on the waterfront, the rooms have fantastic views, and the staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are beautifully appointed, well furnished, and lots of pillows! Unfortunately, during my visits only two of the four elevators were working with put quite a strain on guests. During off hours the neighborhood is wonderful to visit, but during the summer on weekends it is a zoo! With the crush of tourists visiting, thousands of cruise ships passengers embarking and disembarking, not to mention lines of taxis and befuddled drivers resulting in gridlock. I normally visit during the off season, October or May, summer is a different experience entirely.
