Wonderful suite, location, and hosts!
It's hard to over-state how good this VRBO listing is. First, the hosts, Joan and Dennis, were friendly and very accommodating. They struck the ideal balance of great communication with us, and respecting privacy. The suite is immaculate, well-appointed, and very comfortable. Joan and Dennis should be rightly proud of what they've created. The location is really beautiful, and convenient for exploring Victoria. We had a great experience staying in this Suite By The Salish Sea, and highly recommend it. Big thanks, Joan and Dennis!

Cozy Studio Suite Near the Ocean
This cozy studio suite is in a quiet, safe feeling area one minute from the ocean. Beautiful yards and parks gave us many enjoyable walks. We loved the hummingbirds in the front and roses in the back of this property. Dennis and Joan were so friendly and helpful. They let us store bicycles in their shed. They let us know when whales were passing by. They invited us up for a Christmas visit and gave us a Christmas basket full of goodies and even a cute little poinsettia plant. Any questions/issues were promptly answered/resolved. There is a separate entrance and shared laundry. Closets, desk, TV and comfy chairs are arranged around the bed. Between the bed and the kitchen area there is enough room to roll out a yoga mat and stretch. Kitchen holds a table for 2, fridge, microwave, breakfast bar, with a crock pot and induction hotplate for cooking. The only downside - This would not matter to everyone, but we need, and try to book, one bedroom units to accommodate sleep patterns and meditation routines. We assumed “one bedroom queen” in the listing meant there was a separate bedroom. However when we checked, VRBO said “one bedroom queen” accurately describes a studio suite. Takeaway - Knowing how the website categorizes properties will help us with future bookings. We both agreed that if there had been a separate bedroom, we would have had a perfect stay, so if a studio apartment works for you, we couldn’t recommend it more.

Quaint and quiet
My stay at Dennis and Joan's was very peaceful and quiet. The suite was very clean and just big enough. It is in a very lovely part of Victoria with beautiful streets to walk down and even the ocean. There were basic essentials like coffee, tea, cooking pots and pans. There were even some shampoos and body wash in case you forget yours. Thanks for the yummy muffins and breakfast foods. I appreciated their immediate response to rectify a problem with the fridge that was fixed quickly. Would highly recommend this property! Must have a vehicle since the nearest bus stop is a 20 minute walk.

Needed to keep the blinds closed so as not to be seen from the street iUnterior lighting disconnected. View of the ocean not possible from a basement persspective. It was a studio not a 1 bedroom. The hosts were lovely people but not up to fixing the in floor heating etc, Partial refund.....requested.

The property is in a beautiful, convenient location just a stone throw from two beach accesses plus coffee shops, restaurants, and UVic just a short drive away. The suite was nice and furnished with everything we needed for a weekend away.

By the Salish Sea
The unit was exceptionally clean. It was quiet and was within 200 feet of the water. We walked in the area and felt very safe. We were surprised with milk, cream butter and a breakfast treat with jam. The back yard was a beautiful gallery of different flowers and at the side, hummingbirds enjoying a meal. It had everything we could possibly need including a hair dryer. The soft music that was playing on arrival helped us calm down after two full ferries and a long wait.

Our stay was amazing. Dennis and Joan are such gracious hosts, and the suite was perfect, all the comforts of home. We spent time taking in the beautiful view at the end of the street, and the sea lions made an appearance. This was our first VRbo experience and thanks to our hosts it will not be our last.

Beautiful place, great price. Quiet, even with owners upstairs. Beautiful gardens in the back. Short walk to see the sea. Some croissants and jam on the first morning, very nice. No AC, but the room was cool. we did bring a fan however. Only suggestion would be to provide 1-2 of those foldable luggage racks so we could live out of the suitcases since there was not a large chest of drawers to unpack into. Would definitely stay again, longer.

A beautiful, unique area, a botanist’s dream. Small walk to the sea. Full laundry access. No oven, one burner type stove. Comfortable bed. Shower, no bath. A basement suite. Good privacy.

The property was very clean and very comfortable. The communication with owner was very good. For welcome gift we got croissant, milk , cream and a soap. The surrounding area is beautiful. Across the street is the ocean. One morning I saw a sea lion swimming. I would go back any time.

Perfect place to Start!
Perfect location to explore in any direction. Many miles to walk and explore and a short trip to downtown Victoria. Accommodation was exactly as listed and had everything we needed! We will be back if we can and highly recommend.

A gem of a place
Lovely location, just a block away from the ocean where we watched sea lions dive for fish. Super clean, and well thought out layout. Dennis and Joan are lovely and their garden is spectacular. Definitely coming back!

Quiet, secluded.
Nice property. The description says ocean view. We expected to be able to see the ocean from the property, which you had to go down the block to see. I missed the fact we wouldn't have access to a stove, only a hot plate. Quite a distance to Victoria's waterfront and it's amenities.

Actually we do specifically say that the ocean views are steps away from the suite at both ends of our very short street and not viewable from the suite because of lush vegetation. The views are worth the few steps and are an opportunity to breathe in our fresh ocean air. We hope that you enjoyed the croissants, fruit, small milk & cream, coffee and selection of teas to get you started on your first morning. As well, we do share in our amenities list that there is an induction hot plate, crockpot, microwave, refrigerator and fully equipped kitchen. Very well equipped with everything you need for the stay. It was clean and well appointed. The neighborhood was super quiet, but had everything you would need ... from coffee in the morning (at Moka) to beers at the pub (smugglers Cove.) This is the perfect place to stay when you want to avoid the super touristy downtown, but still only be a short drive or cab ride away. We will definitely stay here again 😁

What a location!
The location was amazing. Across the street or down the street from beaches. Suite is perfect for 2 and has everything you could need including an outdoor patio and BBQ. Hosts were lovely and even left coffee, cream, croissants and fruit for us. Will definitely stay there again if we are ever in the area. Thanks so very much!

A lovely return visit
This quiet, comfortable studio suite is located in a residential area, close to small rocky beaches, perfect for sitting and gazing out to sea, as well as walking trails through several neighbourhood parks. Services are 10 minutes away by car and other, more distant areas of the city, are easily accessible.
