A gorgeous property. Staff were friendly and helpful and our room was beautiful. Hotel is right in the heart of things, by the opera house, as the name suggests! It’s also right by a major subway station which made getting around a breeze
A lovely stay, great location particularly as we were seeing an opera & the Opera House is literally 2 minutes walk! Room spacious, plenty of towels & all very clean. Eddie on reception is wonderful - very helpful & gave us great recommendations. I would definitely recommend this hotel
This is by far the best place to stay in all
Of inner stadt. Lovely staff, clean and spacious rooms with kitchenettes, excellent location, affordable laundry facilities, super quiet apartment style hotel that doesn’t have tons of people milling about. We won’t stay anywhere else when we visit Vienna; it’s also almost half the price of neighbouring noisy hotels.
The room was beautiful and perfect. Everything we needed. The location was also about his perfect as you could get. This is my new hotel in Vienna! I will definitely be staying here anytime I am in that city.
Really great location a block from the Opera, sites nearby and transportation. Very helpful staff. Water and coffee available all day was nice. Since it is an older hotel, not necessarily updated but the apartment layout is spacious.
Great location with easy access to public transportation. Front Desk Staff extremely helpful. Good breakfast option although pricey. Units are all unique. Definitely will return. Coffee bar in lobby really demonstrates care for guests and makes it easy to stay in hotel rather than running out. Lots of food/shopping options all within easy walking.
Great location at Karlsplatz across from the opera (go to an opera performance). The staff is very nice and helpful. The room is large and nice but starting to get aged.
Good size room and bathroom. Room and bathroom clean. Felt like an Airbnb, Kitchen had utensil to make tea etc and a table with chair to eat a meal. Staff was helpful and always ready to assist, especially Eddie, who checked us in and carried our luggage to our room and showed on the map regarding various attractions.
Location was near to tram and underground trains.
Great place to stay and enjoy Vienna's various attractions.
Appreciated the very helpful reception which gave us excellent restaurant recommendations ! Our 1 bedroom apartment was very spacious with 2 comfortable queen beds in separate rooms, nice kitchen with dining table and a view of the Stephansdom from the living room window.
The location was fantastic and in easy walking distance to many major sights, restaurants and shopping plus the subway station and Straßenbahn stop was also next to this hotel. Will definitely stay here again!
The staff was great. Breakfast was great.
We were on the 5th floor. Next time, I think a better option would be the first through the fourth floors.
The bed was two twin beds put together as one. The pillows were terrible. We had to ask for a sheet, which was promptly provided. We had to request clean towels daily which was provided without cost.
Overall a good experience, but will likely try a different hotel in the future.
First and above all, the staff was always very friendly and always helpful. Every person that i encountered was always happy to help and friendly. The room was very big with alot of closets , and ample bathroom. The only thing I would like to see improvement, is not having to pay to do laundry.we stayed for about 12 days , and thats the only thing i would suggest change. Overall im very happy and satisfied with our stay.
Reception staff were lovely and really helpful and the room was comfortable and well equipped. Our only comment concerned breakfast, which was very average. A limited supply of fruit and pastries, and often no choice of milk for cereal. Coffee is brought to you so you have to ask each time you want a top up. It only came from a machine, so why not put the machine on the buffet so you can help yourself? The staff in the breakfast room could have been more friendly too.
We enjoyed the hotel and found the staff to be welcoming and helpful! The location was fairly near to the attractions which we liked. We were happy to receive a free upgrade in our room.
The only thing I would say that didn’t make it perfect was that the bed was too firm for our backs and the pillows could have been a bit more supportive. The breakfast gave good options and the service there was excellent!
The Living Hotel in Der Oper is a clean, comfortable, conveniently located, welcoming hotel!
We visited Vienna for 2 weeks and stayed at the Living Hotel in der Oper in early October.
We had a spacious suite with a kitchenette, and a lovely view of the street and Karleskirche. The location is within walking distance of the Opera, many historic museums, churches, and Cafes, Steps from the trams, and Ubahns, and food markets (Billa, Spar).
The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating, with recommendations, and assistance in making Cafe reservations (thank you - Lezina, Patricia, Eddy and Marcel).
Did I mention the 24x7 complementary coffee (espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, etc) available in the lobby, as well as chilled bottled water?
Though breakfast was available, we got fresh fruit and freshly baked pastry from Billa, coupled with cappuccinos (from the lobby) and savored breakfast by the open windows in our room. That worked for us for breakfast, followed later with lunch/dinner at Cafe's.
We had a lovely visit in Vienna and whole-heartly recommend this hotel.
