Lovely bay side retreat

Gem was a gem!
It was a great house with great views and a quick walk to a great beach. No need to go anywhere else to enjoy quiet time with family. Karen was a great host and ensured we had a great time. Did I mention everything was great? Lol

Gem of a Vacation
Our extended family of 14 (late teens to grandparents) enjoyed our stay at the Gem of the Bay. The house is beautiful, well- stocked, and comfortably fit all of us. We especially enjoyed the upper deck to watch the sunsets, as well as the large living room for gathering and playing games. The location regarding the beach could not have been better as it was literally a one minute walk away. The bay water was incredibly warm (though questionable in its clarity), and we were able to take long morning walks on the beautiful but quiet beach. Proximity to restaurants and grocery stores was good ( though not walkable), and popular spots such as the Cape May boardwalk and beaches ( beach passes were a bonus!), Wildwood, and several breweries were within a short drive. Communication with Karen was outstanding and her expectations for her guests are comfortably clear. We had no issues and would highly recommend this home. Thank you, Karen!

Family Vacation
House was a great size and in a perfect location. Agent was very helpful and very accommodating. Also very easy to communicate with. Overall when we plan to do another beach trip I would stay here again.

Family Bay Vacay
Very well appointed home with lots of spce for a large family vacation. Living room area large and comfortable for everyone to gather together. If you desire some "down time" there are cozy sitting areas on the second floor , the first level, and plenty of room on the massive decks. It was very comfortable. The owner is quickly available and responds within minutes if you have any concerns. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location and large enough for the whole family
This is our second year in a row staying here with some extended family and it was fantastic. The house is seconds to the beach and has everything you can ask for. Pack light as there’s a washe/dryer, plenty of beach chairs, toys, umbrellas, etc, Down town Cape May is about a 20mim and great at night to walk around with kids and grab some ice cream (restaurants are packed during the summer so make reservations). I’m sure we’ll be back next year for more great memories.

Wonderful family reunion
The large home easily accommodated our extended 10 member family. The short walk to the bay beach was good for the kids. And the ocean beaches were accessible, too, with a short drive. Lots of kitchen equipment, beach toys for the kids and umbrellas for the adults. We cooked in almost every night and watched the sun set from the upper porch.

Great rental for a family
Short walk to the bay and a quick drive to local Cape May attractions. House was fully equipped and very clean. Owners were extremely responsive to any questions ahead of or during our stay. Would definitely stay here again or recommend to friends.

Gem by the Bay is just that
My family of 12 had the best time in this beautiful home. The owners were very attentive in answering all our questions. The home was immaculate and even Hourican Isaias could not dampen our experience. It has all the comforts of home. It's in a great location, close to the bay and other attractions. Wonderful time was had by all.

Excellent Family Beach house
Our Family of 12 enjoyed the Gem of the Bay accommodations and easy access to the beach and short ride to town. The house had plenty of room for everyone and well appointed. We're glad to highly recommend this location for a large family vacation.

Perfect Stay!
We had a wonderful experience at Gem of the Bay. It is very conveniently located to the Delaware, about two houses down from being beachfront. My kids had so much fun poking around and looking at things like horseshoe crabs that had washed ashore, and the water is shallow enough for a stretch and the waves game enough that you worry less as a parent. If you have small kids, this is really an ideal spot. The house was very clean and well organized. Karen is a great hostess and told us everything we needed to know prior to arrival. The hang out spaces are very cozy and nicely designed. The baths/showers are slightly dated, but that’s a very small item for what was an overall excellent experience. Thanks Karen and Rudi...we hope to be back again!

Good vacation house.
Very comfortable house. Spacious and well-equipped kitchen. Lots of beach equipment - chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. Great deck for enjoying the ocean view & dining al fresco. Beach just a minute's walk from the house. Lovely sunsets over the bay. Be aware three story house does mean stairs.

Wonderful home in great location
The Gem of the Bay is a spacious and beautiful home. It's just a few houses from the beach in a nice residential area. Gorgeous sunsets can be enjoyed from the deck on the 3rd floor. Great vacation!

Beautiful and Welcoming for all
We had 15 people ranging in age of 1 to 50+ and the house was great for all, there was room to stretch out where we were not on top of each other which was nice, location wise for have small children you could ask to be closer then this location for trips down to the beach, and the view from the decks are incredible. But I think the best think about the house was the welcoming feeling when you open the door the little extra left by the owners are so thoughtful I thank you again Karen and Rudi for the incredible new memories I was about to share with my family after a few years of not being back down the shore

Amazing
My family and I spend the Easter break at this home and we loved it the home was beautiful. Karen was very helpful texted us when we arrived asking if we found everything alright she was very helpful. The location of the house was amazing everything was close the walk on the beach. Spacious and comfortable house very close to the beach
We absolutely loved our stay at this newly remodeled home. It was very clean and very tastefully furnished and decorated. It was also very close to the beach; the beach was just three houses away. The house was facing the bay and we had a great view of the beach from the decks and enjoyed watching the sunset. We enjoyed peaceful and quiet beach sunbathing and walking. The drive to the Cape May downtown was only about 15 min away. The owner, Karen was very responsive to our questions. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Wonderful house!!!
This house is recenty renovated and they arre maintaining very neat and clean. We had enough space there for 16 people to sleep and every enjoyed a lot. Overall our stay was 'wonderful '. I will consider this place again for our next vacation.

Owner too greedy
BEAWARE. Property is nice but owner does not return your deposit. She will claim unnecessary charges to get some money from deposit.

Actually, this tenant was absolutely filthy and showed no respect for my home. It is very sad that he would stoop to this level to try to make me or my home seem less than what it is- a thoroughly clean home that is comfortable for all guests. I would highly recommend NO ONE rent to him. After all the extra cleaning that was required after he left, I only withheld $75 from his $750 security deposit. That did not even cover the cost of the extra cleaner that I needed to call in to do carpet cleaning and launder every mattress cover and pillow cover. My home is kept in pristine condition and thoroughly cleaned for all guests. He was the only guest that I withheld 10% of his security deposit.

We had a wonderful time at the beach house. Everything we needed was provided for us. Location was perfect. The price was reasonable. This is the perfect house if you are vacationing in cape may. Thank you very much for the warm and general hospitality.
