You can visit many cultural and historical monuments there and get to know the interesting local history, culture and tradition. The largest and most famous manifestation in this area is the Rijeka Carnival, today one of the largest carnival parades in Europe and the world. In 2020 Rijeka was the European Capital of Culture. For a day trip, we recommend the island of Krk, which is connected to the mainland by a bridge and hides many cultural and historical sights as well as beautiful beaches.
