"Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone...

"Der Eigentümer und die Verwalterin vor Ort sind sehr nett. Das Haus ist grundsätzlich gut eingerichtet. Es liegt aber leider direkt hinter einem Bauernhof und einem offen Kuh- und Schafstall. Dadurch stinkt es fast durchweg im Garten, auf der Terrasse und im Haus sehr stark! Wenn sich der Wind dreht, hat es stark nach Schwein gestunken, da auf der anderen Straßenseite ein Schweinestall ist. "Im Dorf gibt es ein hervorragendes Restaurant, unbedingt besuchen. Nadine ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Frühstück für den nächsten Tag stand im Kühlschrank, auf dem Esstisch ein frischer Apfelkuchen zur Begrüßung.
