Known to all the locals as the `Banana Bach` this basic kiwi bach is located directly across the road from Oruaiti Beach at Waihau Bay.

On arriving at the bach you instantly think what an amazing location. So beautiful. Oruaiti Beach is a white sandy beach which is only a short walk across the road. It is unpopulated and sometimes you feel like you have the beach all to yourself, so don`t forget to pack a good book and a yoga mat.

The bach itself is original and has the all of the living up stairs. On walking up to the entrance of the home you come to a decked area, this is a great spot to sit for afternoon BBQ`s whilst embracing the day-long beautiful seaviews. From the deck you enter the open plan main living area. The kitchen is original of the 1960`s and offers all the basic necessities you need whilst away on holiday. There is TV in the lounge/dining room and you will get phone reception through Vodafone.

The sleeping arrangements are for up to six people in three bedrooms (2 x double beds and 2 x single beds). The bathroom has a shower and a separate toilet. There is a laundry outside with washing machine and dryer.

Fisherman unite, this large section can cater for multiple boats to be parked so lock and load that boat and trailer. This area offers great inshore fishing, but also great game fishing can be had December through to August.

The beach across the road in a safe swimming beach for families. All your regular beach activites can be enjoyed from right here. A location that is remote and incredibly precious, we invite you to come relax, unwind, escape the hustle and bustle of everyday living and enjoy the beautiful East Coast of New Zealand.

Note:- The bach is currently being renovated so will reflect differently to photos.
- This bach is original of it`s 1960`s era, it is ideally suited to fishermen and people that are happy with basic accommodation. The property is in need of renovating and the reviews reflect this.
- Waihau Bay has a Vodafone network only- there is no Spark cellphone coverage.

Quiet and remote, Waihau Bay is a fabulous fishing destination, one of the best fisheries in New Zealand. With only one small shop/cafe and a restaurant is available at Waihau Bay Lodge. In the fishing season on tournaments , you can also grab a bite to eat at the Waihau Bay Fishing Club. Enjoy the beautiful beach, ideal location for families.
