We stayed here for a week in late October and early November. The apartment provided everything we needed, was safe, in a great neighborhood, and quiet day and night. The host went above and beyond in anticipating what a traveler might forget to bring like snacks and toothbrushes. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals or heating take out food. For a basement apartment, this unit is very light and bright. The red line on the Metro is only a few blocks away. We would stay here again without reservation.

Amazing location of this great English basement apartment rental. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed each one. The bed was comfortable and the place had everything we needed. Easy walk to Whole Foods for a few small grocery items. Plenty of things already provided, such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and sugar, etc. I was so glad to not have to buy paper products in order to stay here. It makes a huge difference to already have key essentials. The best part of this place is how beautiful and safe the neighborhood is and the easy access to the Metro. We will stay here again and again every time we visit DC.

Nice neighborhood, easy access to Metro (about 12 minute walk) and near-by grocery store. This is a basement apartment and we never heard Gladys or David above us. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything you could possibly need is available. Host readily assisted in my inability to get printer going. Furniture could be updated, but a very nice spacious and comfortable environment.

Wonderful!

The property was as described - very well-maintained and ready for arrival! The hosts were very nice, communicative, and accommodating. A bad storm came through and knocked out power in the neighborhood one evening, and they brought us flashlights! We enjoyed walking the beautiful neighborhood and felt very safe walking the few blocks to the main commerce area!

Wetherford Family Vacation

David and Gladys were excellent hosts! We ordered groceries from Amazon fresh and David put our groceries in the apartment the day before our arrival. We had cold drinks waiting for us when we got in. The location is great. It is close to the metro and several restaurants. The apartment was well equipped with toiletries and k-cups. So much better than staying in a hotel. We had a great time. The accommodations are a big part of what made our trip great.

This property is exactly as advertised. Very clean and well organized with everything you need for a getaway. Host was very friendly and helpful and even provided some welcome snacks that were greatly appreciated after a busy morning of travel and sightseeing.

Excellent location

Stayed here with high school son to visit daughter attending AU. Excellent location close to metro and walking distance from so much stuff. The apartment is outfitted with so many amenities. I was very pleased with my choice and would definitely stay here again. Six stars.

Adorable apartment, perfect location!

This basement apartment was pristine, well-stocked and in a terrific location — just a few blocks from the red line (metro) and Whole Foods. Hosts were gracious and easy to contact. Super responsive. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier. My teens and I will remember this trip fondly.

Great place to stay!

The apartment was as advertised. It was clean and comfortable. I appreciated having the separate bedroom even though I traveled by myself. The kitchen was perfect. About a 10 minute walk to the Metro, grocery stores, and restaurants. The neighborhood is lovely, felt very safe, and the hosts were responsive and friendly. Definitely worth considering for a DC trip! I’d stay here again.
