This was one of the better equipped kitchens in all the vacation rentals I've used. The knives were even sharp. My partner and I love to cook when we get away so that was important to us. The bed was too soft for my partner's preference but I thought it was lovely.The view is very pretty and it was nice to sit and sip coffee on the porch and listen to the river.

We loved everything about our say in this cabin! It was the perfect size for our family of four, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen space was perfect, and the outdoor space and surroundings were stunning. In addition, the hosts were great to work with. We would definitely stay here again.

I was excited about this place based on reviews, but the moment I checked in I was hit with several awful smells. The downstairs smelled like fish or rotting food, and the stairs and upstairs smelled like pet urine. It was 95 degrees so I couldn’t open the windows so we had candles and coffee grounds everywhere to help the smell. The property manager was responsive but I used the provided cleaning supplies to handle it faster and without coordinating around our plans. The smell never left during our stay. The walk to the river is not very convenient, especially for young kids. I wont stay here again.

Dream Place in the Gorge

I spent a long time looking for the perfect place in the Columbia River Gorge area -and this was it! Everything was exactly as the listing said. But in person, it was even better. The deck on the river allowed us to hang out and read, have a drink by the fire table, and grill and eat dinner. I loved it. The kitchen was amazingly well-equipped, even with things I have never seen before. We kept the door to the balcony off the bedroom open all night, so that we could hear the river rushing by.There will be a couple of times we had questions about the propane, and the response to help us was super quick. We have stayed at a lot of VRBO rentals in the past, but this is my favorite so far. Thank you.

We loved this home. It was in a peaceful location and not too far from town. The home was spotless and it had everything we needed to cook and relax. My kids loved being able to walk down to the river. We would defiantly stay here again.

Great 3 days!!

The cabin was just as it appeared in the listing. The location on the Washougal River was lovely listening to the rushing water at night and very private. The amenities were just right with a well stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels for all and games for our granddaughter. Very clean and comfy. Wish we could have stayed longer.!

What a cute little cabin

What a cutely decorated cabin! It was clean and comfortable. The river ambiance was amazing. It was fairly close to activities (mostly hiking, etc.) and it was well stocked. I did not feel like, however, that the listing made it clear enough that the fireplace was the ONLY heat source. There was no matches or kindling but large pieces of wood and paper were. Probably not a big deal in warmer months (there’s ac) but we froze! When we reached out to host to ask about location of kindling and matches, we never received a response. Overall, I’d go back. But come prepared for the cold if you’re coming in cooler months!

Idyllic forest setting

We are from Arizona and I wanted to stay at a place that would seem other worldly to my kiddos - this fit the bill completely. Driving onto the property was an amazing experience. The deck looking out over the river was amazing, hiking down to the river was an adventure. We don’t have young kiddos anymore but if you do there is so much for them on the property. Decorating inside was beautiful - we loved everything about our stay!!

Odor!!!!

The house is adorable. The pictures of the area are accurate. But there was a terrible cat urine like smell throughout the house that was overwhelming. It triggered my husband’s asthma. We ended up paying a lot more money to book hotels at the last minute. Be sure to find out if they addressed the issue before you book. VRBO was very understanding and helpful!!

Cozy cabin on the Washougal River

We had a great stay at this cozy quaint cabin on the river! The cabin had everything we needed. We enjoyed a nice fire inside, and we LOVED dining on the back deck, listening to the sounds of the "river music" and nature. The kitchen had everything needed to cook fabulous meals. The cabinets were labeled inside so we knew where to return everything when we were done AND where to find everything we needed. We went for some nice walks in the neighborhood in the evening. It was a great place to stay!

Didn't want to leave

My fiance and I stayed here during a trip to the PNW from Texas. We wanted a proper cosy mountain cabin experience and boy did North Fork Hideaway deliver! The first night we arrived, we realized you could open the door from the bedroom and hear the sound of a rushing river, we were enchanted. It's funny, we spent half of our vacation here, and the other half on the Oregon Coast. The entire time we were on the coast we were wishing we'd have stayed here longer in Washougal!!
