Amazing trip, great location!

Beautiful beach house! Beach access over the dune is super close. Host was very responsive and made sure we loved our vacation. The pool and hot tub were perfect to still enjoy the weather, especially for the windy days. The decks were perfect for sunrise coffee and relaxing. You can tell the owners really care and want you to enjoy your stay.

We really enjoyed our week at Looney Dunes to Celebrate My 70th Birthday and Easter Weekend!

The House met all our expectations. It had enough bathroom and bedrooms to accommodate 17 of my Kids, spouses& grandkids. The pool and Hot tub were great too. We loved walking the short distance to the beach everyday and collecting shells on the beach. The two outdoor showers were amazing after coming back from the beach. My grandkids loved the movie room to watch movies at night. All in all, it was an Amazing Week!

Perfect house for what we needed

We chose this house because we weren't sure of the weather in October. The movie theater room was a big hit with all the kids, and the pool table was a hit for the adults. We loved having bedrooms and bathrooms on all the floors, and the kids loved staying together in the bunk bedroom. The walk to the beach was a breeze, and it was nice to be able to have our own pool since the waves were pretty wild while we were there. Communication and check-in/out were a breeze. Dollar General and Waves Market and Deli are right up the road, which came in handy. It was a great experience.

Nice quiet retreat

Well the area is great if your looking for a quite family style vacation. Wave's Deli and Lisa's Pizza have great eats. There is a Dollar General right there as well, any other big items you may need are within 15-20min drive to Avon. The property itself is needs some TLC. Pictures in ad are from a few years ago I think. Pool looked pristine in pic's but in reality needed to be refinished but has new furniture. Cleanliness was good but did find baby socks laying on couch and food particles "cereal" in the tray on coffee table. Talked to property MGR and he was very helpful in to resolve any issues that may need to be taken care of. I would not be hesitate to rent this house again if we would return to the Outer Banks. Kitty Hawk is about 30 min and has all the entertainment needs a kid would want.

Great family gathering vacation

Great house for large family gathering- we had 3 families with 6 young kids and 2 teenagers. The home accommodates this easily with access to a variety of recreational activities. Very easy access to the ocean side. There were beach chairs and boogie boards already at the home, although we brought our own. Pool and hot tub were also a hit. We ate at the house so I cannot comment on local restaurants, but the house had all the essentials and more for cooking and storing leftovers. We had a problem with the washing machine, but the management team was very responsive and fixed the problem very quickly. All in all a fabulous week.

We had a great week at Looney Dunes! The house was fantastic. Having a bathroom for each bedroom (most en suites) was amazing! The house was squeaky clean. The bathrooms were up to date and nice! The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The theater room was enjoyed by all. The hot tub was very popular and had such an easy to use cover. No one needed help to wrestle it on and off. The pool is a nice size and fairly deep. The deck area and outdoor furniture by the pool was in good shape, sturdy and there was enough for everyone to enjoy being poolside. The pool deck lighting was great too. And everything in the house was in working order. We didn’t find broken or unable to use features or items. We brought our pup and he enjoyed the vacation along with us! Would recommend!

Lovely house with everything you need!

We loved this home & our stay in Waves. The home had everything we needed, the kitchen was well outfitted, the pool and hot tub were great, the living room area was big enough for all 18 of us to be in at once, and the beds were comfortable and clean. The house was also more well kept than the one we stayed in last year. The rental team was very responsive. Waves is quiet and uncrowded. While you have to travel a bit to get to a "real" grocery store, the little corner store was quite well stocked. We did have a visit from the infamous biting flies on our first day, so bring your bug spray just in case! A lot of the bedrooms in this house have only a king bed, so some children had to sleep on air mattresses but it all worked out. (Our house last year had several different bed configurations which worked out perfectly for our families).

Week at the Outer Banks

For the cost it really didn’t meet my expectations. Arrived for our early check in and it wasn’t ready. I understand that happens but if they are cleaning that long it should be clean. The garbage cans were overflowing at the road. On can blew sideways in a storm and the trash people wouldn’t pick it up. The rug in the main living area should have been thrown away 2 seasons ago. The grass was long and un kept looking the only one near us. Also found roaches and fleas but they did say the people before us destroyed the house. The closeness to the beach awesome and all the kids had a blast in the pool. If I was asked would I stay there again maybe would be a truthful answer.

I don't like to leave a poor review, but I was encouraged by my whole group to leave an honest review. I've waited 4 weeks to write this as I don't want to be negative; I will be honest and you can make up your own mind.We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon to find:1. An exterior door not only unable to CLOSE but also unable to be LOCKED so it was completely unsecured. I texted the owner 3 times and called twice. The maintenance did not come until the next mid-morning. For such a severe maintenance issue, I think the response should have been immediate. The house should not have been rented until security was assured.2. Without going into great detail, the entire home was so dirty. The kitchen cupboards were dirty, with old crumbs and food in the drawers. The floors, surprisingly, were not only dirty with sand and gravel but were filthy. We took our shoes off - respecting the home - and within 15 minutes of walking around, our socks were almost black!3. We went to get the broom and mop to clean the floors so we could walk on the floors without shoes and the cleaning tools were unbelievable! Black, dirty and filthy!4. There was so much dust and dirt on the light fixture above the dining table, we couldn't eat there until my sister got up on a chair to clean it.....then she had to clean the table as all the filth and dead bugs were now laying there.5. None of us dared turn on any of the ceiling fans (which would have been a welcomed treat given the wa

The house is huge, and the steps are many. The bedrooms are large and roomy. It was really nice sitting on the back decks and listening to the waves crash onto the beach, which you have easy access to the beach from the house. Perfect view of the sun rising.
