This two bedroom/3 bath home has custom furnishings and many special touches throughout. Take time to enjoy unobstructed views from the covered deck, snuggle in front of the fireplace, or enjoy a movie in the home theater.

Every season in Western North Carolina has something special to offer. Enjoy the wildflowers in spring, the blaze of colors in fall, the fresh mountain air of summer and the serenity of winter.

You will find actvities suited for every taste. Western North Carolina is loaded with craft, antique and gift shops. The great outdoors offer horseback riding, mountain golf courses, trout fishing, white water rafting and scenic drives on The Blue Ridge Parkway. Snow skiing and tubing are available at the Catalooche Ski Area. It's just a short trip to Asheville, known for the Biltmore Estate, craft breweries and some of the best restaurants in the South. Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino are nearby, and it's only a day trip to Gatlinburg and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge.

  • An incredible motorcycle museum! I found out about the place after seeing it on various tv shows, American Pickers, Chasing Classic Cars, and Jay Leno's Garage, included. Once you get inside, you really don't know how you are going to take it all in. It is huge! All of the motorcycles run and during our visit, the curator was starting and taking random bikes out for a spin. A must see!

Golden Vista Review

This cabin is excellent. We had our family vacation at Golden Vista and it was the best vacation ever according to my wife and children. The cabin was much better than I expected, I guess pictures don’t do it justice. The view is spectacular. The road to it requires some skillful driving but that is to be expected when the cabin is at 4000 feet. On a scale of 1 to 10 this was a 10 for us.

Beautiful direct mountain views. Home has all the amenities needed. Should have been cleaner- there were dog hairs throughout, carpet under kitchen table dirty & should be replaced along with outdoor patio carpet. Outdoor lower level patio was not usable which was contrary to website photo. Overall I would recommend the property.

A beautiful home with a gorgeous view

Upon arrival, we took some time to center ourselves after the rather intense drive up the mountain. After a few days, we were like old pros but it certainly took some getting used to for us city dwellers. This is not a drive you want to make multiple times a day so be sure to plan out your adventures accordingly to minimize going up and down the mountain. Initial reaction though once we arrived at the house was WOOOOWWW! The view was like no where we’ve ever stayed. The house is situated in a way that, almost wherever you are inside, you’re getting a killer view out the window. The back porch was my happy place morning, noon and night every single day. The kitchen was an absolute delight to cook in, fully equipped and very well thought out. The beds were comfy and the theater room was a favorite for my family and our nightly gathering spot for movie time. All in all, we were sad to leave but wouldn’t hesitate to rent Golden Vista again!

The views are fantastic. King bed was very comfortable. House had everything needed. TV system was difficult to navigate for us as seniors and front door lock was also a struggle to get locked.

Gorgeous home, amazing amenities and beautiful mountain view

We stayed at this property for a week, and it was breathtaking every day. We stayed in the summer months, when the flowers on the mountain were in bloom and the view from the balcony was green and serene. The home was spacious, clean, and updated with luxurious amenities, including state of the art laundry and kitchen appliances. The upstairs was a great movie space (which we used daily) and the downstairs was a spacious living room. The second bedroom in the home was located in a furnished basement that was just as beautifully kept as the rest of the space. For future travelers, the drive to the house wasn’t for the faint of heart and included very steep roads and switchbacks that made us grateful we had just changed our tires. Make sure your car can support steep and frequent climbs on gravel and roads. Also, the bugs didn’t bother us, but there were MANY of them up that high in the mountain that were surprisingly huge and loved to get stuck in the house. We’ll be staying again!

Killer View!

Wonderful house with a fantastic view! Sat on the porch and soaked it in for hours. House is well equipped, very clean, and was exactly what we were looking for. The road up is steep and winding, but not really a problem; just don't plan to run back and forth to town several times a day.

Great Family with older teen Getaway

This home turned out to be the best place for my family. My teens are 18 and 16 so one slept on air mattress in loft other took downstairs bedroom. The teens locked the media room leaving the main level to my husband and I to enjoy. I would say staying at this home felt more like staying at a friends cabin than any other rental we have done before. We enjoyed it very much. The view was so worth the location.

Beauty in the Smokey Mountains

We all enjoyed Golden Vista! It was a great house on the top of the mountain! Our stay was topped off by waking up Monday morning to a beautiful snowy mountains top. It was the highlight of the trip for my son who is 8. It was his first time experiencing snow. What a way for him to experience it. We would definitely recommend Golden Vista. Can’t wait to visit again!

Views and peaceful relaxation

Very comfortable and fitted with high end furnishings, art work and appliances. We enjoyed just relaxing, watching Netflix in the theater room and reading. Which brings me to a suggestion - for us avid readers it would be nice to have a couple of "reading spots" with reading lamps. I thought the upstairs office would be a nice place for a reading chair as it has so much natural light (and views!!)

However the drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart. This should somehow be mentioned in the description; to navigate switchbacks and narrow road for the first time after dark and in fog is NOT recommended.

Disappointed.

We arrived to no airconditioning, cable or internet. We were told that someone would be there at 8:00am to fix it. They showed up at 10:00am. We had to postpone our plans for the day but it did give me time to vacuum up the multitude of dog hair everywhere. I literally spent over an hour vacuuming dog hair. Which made me wonder was it cleaned after the last occupants. It's a beautiful place but was not a relaxing stay.
